HI there, I live in New Zealand, am I able to buy this book as a PDF?

Cheers

Barry

Which is a useful turnover, because it takes retailers here about 3 months to get new releases delivered. They apparently have to go through Australia, or summat.

Doesn't Runequest kick D & D's bottom!!??

Well, I'm intrigued a little by the Essentials line - but RuneQuest II has a lot more flexibility and...weight to it I guess. It also has the Elric setting, which I'm busilly getting into now also.

Incidentally, you can pick up a copy of the Monster Coliseum at Wellington - they have a copy at the wargames shop.

My own gaming preferences gravitate around RuneQuest, and other BRP related games (like Call of Cthulhu), as well as Traveller. So if you want to make up a group, leave a message in the shop I guess.

I usually buy ex Amazon or Book Depository (free shipping) - but the sale books i bought two weeks ago from Mongoose turned up at work in less than two weeks - O for Awesome!

Any chance of a PDF plus book bundle? Like PDf's but cool to have a nice shiny book...

I bought Monster C a while back from Amazon, i am in two groups at mo, one playing Traveller (Mongoose) and Runequest 2.

The resources (online / tools) for D & D 4.0 are amazing but i cannot get over that D & D is basically a tactical wargame (which is fine if that is what you want) - do not like levels or hit points or the rigidity.

Any game when yuo can fall 100 feet and survive is naff..

Like BRP but not Coc ruleset as disconnect between attributes and skill %

Are you on NZrag site?

We have a very, very fast turnaround, even for New Zealand/Australia - yours was about the longest it takes (we can get it down to a week).

We are looking into this.

Sweet, i will hold off buying the book - the good thing is the $nz is very strong at mo, while actually uk and US currencies are having tough times..

I didn't know there was a NZrag site. I'll have to check it out. I sent you an email, by the way.

I don't really see D&D as anything other than a tactical wargame really, but I don't really need a more organic fantasy RPG if I've already got RQII. Different type of game, but the Red Box does hold some nostalgia at least. CoC could do with a system update (new edition) based upon some slight adjustments from the BRP book, I think, but again their is a huge support for the game, and it's feel is pretty unique. As you say, it depends on what you want from a game.

Got your email - cheers -

I agree Runequest 2 is a great Fantasy game, I started a newbie group on it in January and they picked it up real quick.

Most of the rules are logical and intuitive.

I received my copy of RQ Compendium Volume 1 yesterday. I've not read it fully yet but it looks pretty good. Its a slim, neatly bound 96 page volume with a dragon on the cover. :)

Here's a list of contents:
Introduction
A Job Well Done
Additional Humanoids
Alternative Elementals
Camel Spiders
Cutting Edge
Down the Hatch!
Druids
Glorantha Goodies
Go for the Eyes
Legendary Swords
Lesser Known Fauna and Flora
Living Magic
Lock and Ward
Loot
Plunder of the Ducks
The Serpentine Hive

All the articles seem to have had RQII editing tweaks as promised in the introduction.

I'd happily buy the RQ Compendium 2 when it arrives. :D
