Hi, just recently joined this forum following the news about Dark Conspiracy and wondered how long until I can post links? I can't find that information anywhere and I have a couple of fan resources for that game I would like to share

I'll just hijack this thread to say hello as well - long-time lurker, because I'm not really playing any Mongoose games, but I like to toy with the idea of getting into Traveller one day (probably when I'm old and even more grizzled and retired), beyond reading it.

I joined for the Dark Conspiracy news, because trying the Traveller system out with something more contained and not as sprawling as the Third Imperium sounds like a really good idea to me.

I own the MgT2 core rules (pre-2022), the companion and "Deepnight Revelation" and really want to play the latter some day, but it is pretty big ...

You don't need a sprawling 3I. You can do a whole campaign on one planet, one system or one subsector that you roll up with a couple of dice.
Traveller isn't a default setting, any more than D&D is Forgotten Realms.

What he said, you don't need a Third Imperium at all, you can let the dice decide your galaxy just fine. Traveller existed before the Third Imperium after all (Ok it sort of didn't but it wasn't the RPG of the Third Imperium originally)
