Im curious why the ISA fleet box includes Starfury flights when none of the ships that come with it carry Starfuries (unless that has changed with 2nd Ed) I would have preferred the boxes been setup with a 5 point battle fleet of ships with enough fighters to fill said ships instead of including independent fighter wings.

The problem I have with the ISA box set is that it still has those ugly gunships. I would rather see a victory and a carrier, but the carrier is ugly as well.

Six Vorchans does seem a bit much for the Centauri box, but then, the Vorchan is the mainstay of the Centauri navy. Maybe dropping two for a pair of Maximus frigates would be a better idea, but the reinforcements box has those...

I'd grab another one for the Dargan and Maximus pair, but the other ships aren't wanted. A decent reinforcements box needs a lot more fighters and a couple of Altarians at least...

Wow, well while I was a bit sad I just got the old Narn box I guess I should be happy I also got the Centauri and Narn reinforcement boxes...

... but I wouldn't be surprised if the reinforcement boxes are also just being re-tooled based on the changes to the fleet boxes.

Because they're a cheaper fighter than the Nial and presumably also the Shial, and they're on the ISA fleet list? (I assume)

Well thats true, but as I stated before, I would have preferred the 5 battle points be in ships with enough fighter to fill them rather then throwing in independent flights to fill up the 5 point battle requirement. Not to mention they could have afforded to do if for the ISA box its the cheapest of the lot ($44 savings versus some box sets that have $70+ savings). A couple more Whitestars (4 barely seems enough) or maybe a even a couple Nolo'tars, would have been preferred. One more Whitestar would have made it a 5 point Battle fleet of ships with more then enough fighters and the cost of the box set would have still been less savings then some of the other box sets. (It would have been $56 savings, you would be short one nial for fully suppling the Whitestars, but then if you have one as the scout model there is no problem)

Edit: upon further review my points breakdown is from Armageddon, so I dont know how the box stack up with the new points break down.

I got one on the open day. The Dargan and Maiximi are always welcome and I needed some Kutai as they are one of the ships in the cut down fleet list in the rule book. Still when the fleet lists finally get printed they will probably join the Darkner's on the shelf.

I'm just curious, but does anyone know if Mongoose are going to do any other kind of box set deals?

Seams like you can't get anything above battle priority in a fleet box any more, which just seams like GW style pricing. 'You can't have the most powerful units unless you pay full price for them' sort of attitude.

Is there any chance that Mongoose will do capital ship orientated fleet boxes, with battle, war and armageddon ships in them rather than the small stuff?

Or even just offer a set discount for buying in bulk, buy five of any ship and get the sixth free or something like that. Even if not offered on all ships, something like this for the iconic ships from the series might be worth it; Sharlin, G'Quan, Primus, Omega etc

Or, another alternative, just keep the old fleet boxes available as they offered more of the ships we want.
