zero said:Lol, Ok I'll do the math and compare later but my ship also has profits totalled by skimming GGs rather than using Starports to refuel, cos well my crew are awesome like that
GypsyComet said:By hinging the economics on skimming and a robot, you've clouded the picture a bit. Calculate it straight, and note the efficiencies that are available.

Though with the extra time that takes you have less time for cargo runs.

No, you still get your two runs/month which is the standard assumption in Trav.
AndrewW said:Yes that's the standard assumption. Either way though it still takes time out to get to the gas giant and refuel, and possibly time to refine as well though that can likely be done after departing the gas giant while heading out to the 100d limit.
Without spending this time one could squeeze in more cargo runs.

- Not every system has a Gas Giant, so you either have to restrict yourself to systems with one or adjust the plan for those without one.

An assumption, but lacking detailed economic data and forecasts covering the totality of the Imperium, I'll accept it.DFW said:GamerDude said:Notes from reading the discussion:

Yep, most do and the others you buy cheap unrefined.
That was A) A more general point <I've had players use very similar statements to run 1,00dTon ships> and B) Part joke.. the Imperial Battle cruiser, pirate activities and someone's ranting about a major taxation revolt in it because the Imperium wasn't sending the entire battlefleet to squash a single pirate, etc. *joke's on me*DFW said:So, what's your point exactly? 2 Crew members can't run a 100T ship?GamerDude said:- No one person, robot, or Imperial Battlecruiser can be everywhere at once.
So, 2 jumps = 2 weeks, + Time to get to your destination once out of jump + time to scoop/refine fuel OR buy unrefined and refine yourself, while getting more cargo, and getting out to safe jump distance... oh fit maintenance in there.DFW said:Well, yes. That is built into the 2 jumps/month schedule.GamerDude said:- Allow time for the book listed regular maintenance.
No... It's 1 pilot, 1 robot named "Kryten", and an expert navigational program named "Hollie". That's THREE characters, and two can leave the ship if the third gets uppity!Chernobyl said:not to mention a RPG party of 1 pilot is a boring game.![]()

Andrew kind oh sir of making minor blueprint changes, claiming they are your copyright, and passing them as 'new & original'...AndrewW said:Luxuries can take the place of the steward skill.Tasha said:BTW Unless MGT is different.
