Nearing the End Bragging

Indeed and this is why if I post the fleets I have that they will be listed using the most "efficient" breakdowns (i.e. the lowest number of FAPs possible given the ship list).

But that doesn't work unless I misunderstand what you are saying. As in my Vorchan example, the lowest number of FAPs would be with the old version. Are you saying use the old FAP for calculations since it generates lower numbers?

Cheers, Gary

.... must ..... not .... get ..... jealous .....

Seriously, this is one the best pissing contests I've seen in awhile.

No, I mean the P&P FAP chart but don't take 8 Vorchans as a single FAP, take 2 Vorchans, 1 Balvarin, 1 Primus and 1 Octurion as a single FAP and repeat until you have the whole fleet done. Yes, this comes pretty close to the old table but if you have only a few high PL ships then you still get your fleet into an effective number of FAPs (i.e. you would be happy to take that as an actual fleet selection).

Sadly, I only just discovered this game a month ago (May 24th). And to find out that it is going away next week is quite frustrating. :(

Still, in the last 4 weeks I've managed to get:
4+ Arm in Centauri
2 Arm in Narn
2 Arm in EA
1 Arm in Minbari
...and a few Civilan ships for convoys.

If only I had a few more months to shop!

Well you still do. Shops and online suppliers wont just suddenly stop selling them come the end of the month. However, eventually dry up and the mini's will become harder to come by.

Personally, I think we will be good for a few months to come after the license has passed.

Funny what a sad and reflective buisness doing a quick count of my B5 ship models turned out to be. Although I've got no intention of selling or otherwise disposing of them, with the license going away it feels like an adventure is coming to an end.

The final total is rather more than 300, not counting fighters; 80 or so (EDIT - recount, 104) EA hulls totalling over 20 Arma FAP, 40-50 Centauri, 30 (exactly, to round out either 5- or 6-ship pentacans) Dilgar and odds and ends for almost everyone else. 280+ are fully painted, the balance still in their packaging. They may get done...one day...

I got hold of my first B5W ships back in '98, before they were legally on sale in Europe and I've followed the twists and turns of the franchise ever since.

RIP ACtA, hello Abrams-Trek...

The game is not going away. Just because Mongoose don't want to sell you anything more for it is no reason to stop playing with what you already have - in fact, I intend to run a tournament as part of the Student Nationals gaming convention next year. ;)
