Naming ships, colour schemes

I actually don't remember which game that was taken in. Thanks, though, I think it looks pretty nice. I do my best, anyway.

It looks like it might have been Game 3, our Planetary Assault, but I'm not sure.

My ship names are very well thought out, for Vree:

Area 51, Hangar 18, Klatu, Borata, Nicto, Crop Circle, Abductor, Close Encounter, Contact, Cow Mutilator, Anal Probe, Roswell, UFO, Visitor, ET, Greys, MIB, Conspiracy, Gort, Scully, Reyes, Zagon, Mulder, Saucer, Plan 9, Krycek, Agenda, Exeter, X-Files, Doggett, Skinner, Cover-up, Invaders

Oh... And for my upcoming Ipsha war globe: Sphere

I've named my larger Centauri ships;

Octurion - Emperor Shaddam IV

Primii - Huntress of a Billion Worlds, Prince Raban, Duke Leto Atreides

Not really into Frank Herbert, but I love the David Lynch film...

And the Valerius just had to be Lion of the Galaxy.

The smaller ships have mostly roman/byzantine weapon names, apart from the Vorchans.

They follow the old B5W fluff, being named after stinging/biting insects...on *other peoples'* planets. So Wasp, Scorpion, Hornet et.c.

Yep, red. Orange is too "Narny". There'll be a six pack of ass whooopin for you if you go there. I've used a nice metallic red on a couple of my Centauri ships. Judiciously applied, it can be quite attractive and a nice contrast to purple. Though, I did go crazy and do one of my Liati all metallic red with gold trim. Very scary. ;>

re the red v Gold - hmm - I did tone down one ship with flesh wash as Derina suggested by I still like the SHINY SHINY gold effect ..........

Thanks now all i need is someone who can paint the names of the ship somewhere on the hull for me.

why not on the base?

Derina is right. On the base! On the hull you'll go blind trying to paint it and others will go blind trying to read it.

Yea, your quite right , I am playing first game tonight with my centuari vs possiably EA or Mimbari so hopefully it will turn out well for me since both those forces can out shoot me with easliy :/, Not to sure tho on how big a game yet.
