NA: Civilian Ships

Just wondering, are there civilian cargo ships in the Fading Suns milieu or are cargoes all carried by House/League shipping?

I was thinking of convoy scenarios

Well, according to the background in the core rulebook it would seem that shipping is done mostly by the League. I have no idea how long it will take for the next supplement to come out that has them in it. I agree that convoy ambushes would be a lot of fun (and give raiders something to do). Until the next supplement I am experimenting with making stats based off of ships from other lines like Ground Zero Games.

I think the answer should be a bit more nuanced than this.

The League is not some sort of monolithic entity that has cornered space transport. You can still have your tramp freighters IMHO...but the pilot or crew will have to be a Charioteer, and the owner might be a Charioteer too. But if the cargo is human chattel, it could be a Scraver, etc. To make a long story short, the ship might not be directly League-owned, but very likely the owner will be part of one of the Guilds.

Dagretto, I don't disagree, I was just going off the material in the core rulebook. As big as space is it leaves a lot open. Part of the reason I don't feel bad about making my own freighter stats knowing the League will be published at some future point.
