(Jack as a spacehand recruit gains basic training and at first is assigned a post in a medical bay. He meets their contact at this time. His good work earns him promotion to Apprentice. He is transferred to act as Apprentice in Flight and learns basic mechanics.)

Term 2 (age 22-26)

Career & Branch: Flight: Helm.
Event: Birth of Illegitimate Child (this son, Jack Jr, is 7 by current time)

Title: Petty Officer Third Class
(Jack earns the title of Able spacehand in Flight and becomes a Helmsman. As part of training for this role he first experiences astrogation and naval tactics, firsthand.
On R&R, at the age of 23, he has a one-night stand that leads to the birth of his son, something he has no idea of. On his promotion to Petty Officer 3rd Class he is transferred from basic astrogation to a piloting role and also is given responsibility over ship comms)

Term 3 (age 26-30)

Career & Branch: Flight: Helm
Event: Special mission - Bombardment of Oncier
Rank: E4
Title: Petty Officer Third Class
(In this time, Jack gains experience with sensors and takes part in the Bombardment of Oncier as a pilot)

This is the basic character sheet, once we figure out more of their background I'll transfer them to the character sheet thread in the Pbp.
 
What more do you need to do?
You were transferred to the Swiftsure shortly before launch, after the accident.
The ship shares are for the future.
The rest is up too you I think. But I'm happy to discuss it.

she could take Nav (Nav-2) and also has Admin and Liason. She has been created with High Guard, though, so her skills might be higher than what a simple character might have.
 
So does that mean we have a helmman/sensor officer and a sensor/navigator/comms officer/pilot?
That would be cool to have for bridge crew. Both of you are welcome :)
 
Cool. The only thing that I really need more info for and to discuss (or get ideas for) is the Civilian Contact.
They'll be someone Jack met as a Spacehand Recruit, probably as a 20 year old, when he was stationed within their ship's medical bay.

I'm struggling with how a recruit on their first naval ship's med bay come across a civilian that acts as a contact for Jack now.

Ideas welcome :roll:

Civilian contractor
Inspector of the ship to determine if the ship is what was ordered and built by the ship yards (or someone who came to review an incident on board)
Government official's aide
Merchant Marines supply person

Ship was on a relief mission and you made friends with one of the;
hurt victims
victim's family member
nurses or doctors from the installation/planet that your ship gave relief to

Retired Navy (or government official) traveled aboard for a free hop some where you befriended one of his family members or aides.

I think the idea of the government official having a free ride and then making friends with their aide is a good one.

The merchant marine supplier may also come in use though :roll:

By the way, it's probably better to get characters in sooner rather than later :P
The swiftsure is currently under fire. They need some evasive manoeuvres and ECM and such :D
 
Sorry, feel free to copy and paste my character into the character sheet thread, we can cross who the civilian contact is from the pair if and when it comes up :wink:
