Multiclassing

I have a question about multiclassing.

When you multiclass in D20 Modern, only the class skill of the class where you take a level are considered a class skill for purpose of skill points buying.

When you multiclass in Games of Thrones, either class skill of all the class you have are considered a class skill for purpose of skill points buying.

I have read the game master section of B52E but do not find how it works exactly.

can you explain how Multiclass works in B52E ?

Thanks

This is how it works. Standard D20 rules.

I have another question specific to B5 this time. Can someone multiclass in the same class ?

Can a ground force officer multiclass in fleet officer branch or a white collar worker multiclass in a blue collar one ?

Thats a good question and one that I'm afraid you'll have to decide for yourself. Once you take a class you are in that class and any choices have been made. Its up to you or your GM to say whether the branches are different enough for multiclassing.

The offical answer for d20 is that no, you cannot take the same class more than once, regardless of any differences within that class. For instance, you could not play a wizard (specialist evoker) / wizard (specialist conjurer).

Official answer is no. Taking the same class twice does silly things to bonuses. 'I'm a soldier 1/soldier 1/soldier 1 - check out my Fort save!'

There _might_ be scope for a new feat that lets you apply Legendary Pilot and the other class features to a different branch, though, if a player is dead set on being some sort of polymath commander.

A good way of saying what I was trying to express, thanks Gar.

Multiclassing is multi classing, i.e. more than one class, not polyclassing, multiple instances of the same class

Right. But since the three worker classes all have different saving throw progressions, taking a level of white-collar worker after a level of blue-collar worker is essentially the same as taking a level of officer after a level of soldier.

True enough, although worker is pretty much defined as 'the class for pretty much anyone who doesn't fit into one of the other classes', so it's a bit of an odd case.

Which is why I would allow multiclassing into more than one worker class.

And as the question just came up during play: Prestige classes do not count when determining whether a character's classes are unbalanced, right? Or do they?
