Ok I've got a stupid question about BRPG/MRQ, I'm sure I've missed something simple:
The Close Combat section says that an Attack is like an Opposed test, I quote “If the success levels are equal, the higher success roll wins and the lower roll is demoted by one level”.
But then your Dodge and Parry tables takes into account even success opposed, like I succeed my attack roll, you succeed your parry roll, then (I quote) “Attack succeeds, damage is reduced by the AP of the parrying weapon”.
So which one is it? If I succeed an attack with a percentile roll of 55, and you succeed a parry with a percentile roll of 51, does your defense reduce the damages done by your weapon's AP, or does your parry roll get downgraded to a failure in which case you take all of the damages?
Thanks
