miniatures transport

Mongoose
what do you guys use to transport your fleets?
trouble is, not all of mine have un-screwable bases, so with stems and base are quite a pain, were moving house next week so want something good until all my ninja majic connectors come, but that wont be till after we move, i also have about 60 ships!
cheers all

I am not sure where to find it, but I am sure some online store must have it. There was a large case a friend of mine bought for his 40K that had, rather than set holes, sections of foam rubber that could be pulled apart in small squares, allowing for cutomization. The thing was about 18 to 24 inches deep, and at least one level was tall enought to put a land raider in and not have it compressed. I wish I could give more information. Sorry.

I use "army transport" cases and the 4" thick foam trays for ships.

Tear out the pre-scored foam into clamshell "bricks" and use x-acto knife to cut out around a ship inside the brick.

there's photos floating around here somewhere...

try that topic for illustration.

Hard drive boxes. About the right size, and filled with foam.
For storage at home, a £1.99 box from Lidl :)

These aluminium flight cases are on sale in Maplin for £14.99 a pop for the next few weeks.

So LBH, I hear you have miniatures, but they are not assembled. And I have no miniatures. But we both have suggestions regarding the storage and transportation of miniatures.

OK

PS: Are they assembled and unpainted or just un assembled?

Unassembled and unpainted, though technically I have 1 Avenger, some Chronos and a Morshin that are assembled as they are one piece models

Oh monkey trumpets :!: I bought a case from ebay last week for £25 (inc postage), with absolutely no foam in it

. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the angry-dome! (as soon as Professor Farnsworth has finished with it)

Good move buying the Ninja Magic connectors. They'll simplify your gaming world immensely. Takes some work to get the connectors on the minis and stems but well worth it in terms of storage:

And if you get the 45˚ connectors, you can do interesting things. At the very lleast you can use them when other minis are in the way during a game.

I use plastic containers with foam pads, slide the ships bases under each foam pads so you have rows of ships. Its pretty cost effective.

Thanks Chern - now only if I can get a foot hold in our current campaign with these carrion eating bad boyz. Also read your review of Ocean's 13. No women?!? Surprising.
