Minbari Tactics

As it is a campaign game and the ships are awarded XPs. Use the XPs to get the opponent to re-roll those successful stealth breaking rolls. It works very well when we face Kenny Boys Minbari in campaign games and it is frustrating as hell when you have to re-roll and then fail.

Personally I'd say for fighting Centauri the Morshin is your bestest friend in the whole wide world ever.

1) It has ok weaponry.

2) It has excellent stealth so is alot tougher than it appears

3) Most importantly it comes with 8 flights of lovely Nials and a flight of fliers too.

Ohhh look at the scary Demoses, aw they havent got any aft guns or antifighter weaponry?

The phrase 'nibbled to death by cats' jumps to mind for some reason ;).

For a 5 point Raid I'd say 2 Morshins and the either a Leshath or a raid point's worth of Nials. Or just buy 5 Raid points worth of Nials for that matter.....

If he tries to engage your fighters with fighters of his own they'll get slaughtered, and Nials ignore interceptors to boot :D

true, could get 4 or even more if you get the early spotting. even going with 4 thats 18 hits average with 6 crits, should do over a teshlan.
It wouldn't be pleasant taking that lot on an Ashinta, either. As for what's going the other way, it depends on the range. If it's within 18", the Teshlan is firing 2D of double-damage beamy goodness plus 6D of mini-beams; the neutron laser's average is 2 hits (yes, I know what beams do to averages ) and the mini-beams average 3 hits, for a total of 7 points damage, plus or minus bulkhead hits and criticals. The Ashinta will do 6 points damage maximum (not including criticals). If the range is over 18", the Teshlan only does 4 points damage average, but the Ashinta doesn't fire at all. Which means the Teshlans will lose more during the first exchange of salvoes, but so will the Demoses. Next round, the surviving Teshlans can move faster than the Ashintas, and are agile, giving them a better chance of getting behind or beside the Demoses.

And finally, the Teshlan comes with a free Nial - interceptors in round 1, extra firepower in round 2.

The advantage of the Ashinta is that it has exactly the same weaponary in every arc - and its twin linked - very consistant and likely to pick up a crit every round of firing - for that all important adrift / no f arc firing etc.

Still think the Tigara is the best ship, they seem to make a mess of my demii ??. They don't really care what arc you are in. It's bad news if they can get in the big range. I'd probably go for
4 Tigara (4 nials)
1 Torotha & 8 Flyers to give intial interceptor coverage.
The 4 nials can attack the demos at will & hopefully the Flyers hold enough firepower back before they die that when the disruptors would really hurt a few of them that they can be taken out with other arc's while you turn to chase the rest.
If they take Maximus & Sentri or Balvarian thats less Demos to face.

The Ashinta and Tinashi are without a doubt the gems in the Minbari pile - both punch well above their weight simply due to having all-arc cover with a decent number of AD, good range and twin-linked, on a relatively tough ship with decent speed and manouverability.

If only the Sharlin had twin-linked beams, too.

Still a shame that the Torotha doesn't have the same range as every other Minbari ship, especially now that the Morshin has a beam. They'd be a pretty worthwhile choice if they did (especially with the small turreted number of dice + their speed) rather than the poor cousin to the Raid options.

I have also found the Neshtan to be a diamond in the rough.

Although Much more of a specific role player than other Minbari Ships: for instance, it excells against Narn (relying on its hull more than Stealth) and agaisnt non-beam oriented fleet (like the Centari).

Although not as much damage potential as 2 Tinashis, it still retains the TL MB's in every arc, and an 8 AD DD P Beam at 30"--agaisnt centari Ion Cannons, that extra point of hull makes a huge difference in survivability.

Additioanly, the Neshtan is not lumbering, and is more manouverable than the Sharlin.

However, I would not take it agaisnt most fighter swarm fleets due to its poor organic fighter compliment. And I will almost always pair it w? Asninta's for this reason.

The Veshtan, in contrast I have never even tried to take feelign that it sacrafices to much from the Tinashi for marginal gains.
