MGT Books

^ Thanks all for the comments, guess I'll just stick to books mentioned before then :)

Gamerdude, as I said I would really like to help in your setting, I know you said before you would prefer to chat via e-mail, but if you want to continue via pm instead, drop me one and I'll help as much as I can, otherwise good luck and perhaps I can help with something in the future if not this time

Zhodani Noble pushing a dominance through nearby space atm,

You lost me there...

In my idea, becoming one of the hunted deep in Imperial territory would involve using tramp traders (ie other players) who may or may not work for the Imperium. However, once the Imperial Navy starts firing upon them for no apparent reason. It is clear that they must either aid this Darrian fugitive or die. For the Imperium does not want to take any prisoners. The action on Terra could be involve aiding the grandmother of Gabrieel who would later lead the Children of Earth movement in the TNE (providing the canonistas again something to chew upon). Perhaps, the tramp traders are indeed a Zhodani extraction team (channeling here Asimov's Second Foundation novel). My choice would be a mixture. Perhaps, Captain and First Officers are Zhodani Naval Officers of Prole or Intendant backgrounds...the rest of the crew could even be Solomani. All the time, they seek adventure and trade possibilities trying to stay away from the Mains and make their way back to the Marches.

The quickest way, is naturally through, Aslan space in which there is a great opportunity to port in the MgT Aslan module. As they exit Aslan Space for the relatively benign Reaver's Deep sector, it allows you to use the great stuff that Keiths have developed for Gamelords and Cargonaut before making a run either through the Trojan Reaches and across the Rift or go the long away around. Each of these sectors contain countless seeds onto themselves. And, you can choose to linger and develop them or move on.

The threat of the Imperium crack team could be akin to the Blue Hands Men or even better someone from gf's character's past or, of course, both. In this campaign, ships can be lost and gained again, passages on luxury liners are possible, assumed identities along with real ones would all come into play. Let the universe be your oyster...that is what Traveller is all about.

Consolidated Supply Catalog - outstanding. Some things are still really lacking information, like Medikits, but plenty of weapons. Caveat - it can be really hard trying to match up a specific picture to a specific description/stat (unless you are a gun enthusiast maybe). Mostly because there can be like nine guns described on a page, but only eight pictures and such. Still I gave that book to a few people as gifts this last Christmas.

Hm. Lots of guns/other weapons (which, depending on your take is either "wow!" or "so what?"), but not all make sense compared to the core rule book, various misprints and some strange "assumptions", you probably will want to buy it, but have a think about what you want to introduce in your campaign from it?

To be frank there should really have been an errata published, but what point is there in putting out a free errata when the book is a set of tables anyway? No-one would buy the book.

^ Egil I have thought about this, and what with the current Gauss Rifle topic going atm, I probably will wait until I have more money at hand to burn before considering the CSC. I wont know if I'll have something in that book I will add to my games until I see a list of contents.

rust, the games will be literally on the edge of 3I space and the Solomoni sphere, with more venturing on the Solomon side. How a Darrian fugitive will be held in that way may be due to how badly the 3Imperials want her and if any Solomon or Independant worlds want to make a deal. This is what I'd probably add to my games, having a little paranoia on who to trust or not whilst freight-running.
The crew atm, are my GMPC, Harlock, a Pirate from the 3I world Qaal and River, a Marine from a world in the Soloman system, Dynchord.

The trip across the galaxy is a nice idea, having the crew put their profits to berth in A-class worlds and so able to actually get out of the Soloman sphere and deeper into 3I space proper due to over-arching plot I will end up using at some point. Its a little adventurous in scope for the moment, but I like the plan.

I do have little seeds being planted atm that I will use in the future along with what I've been inspired to from that. As for the Zhodani Noble I have mentioned, its basically from the Phoummathep IMTU, due to a Gov value of A, I have a Zhodani Noble that acts as a "God-Emperor" of a world and their reach has already spread through nearby hexes, basically a homegame background detail.
