Messantia cover

How accurate of a representation is the cover supposed to be for Messantia, and the materials described therein? The cover seems a bit ...DnDish... with the over-the-top architecture that I wouldn't expect to be built in Hyborian times - but maybe I underestimate the time period's architectural skills?

I think it's suppossed to be a Hyborian version of the Colossus. Being that Messantia is basically the Hyborian equivalent of a great ancient port I don't mind the artistic freedom exercised therein.

The name of the city that housed the Colossus escapes me however.

The Savage Sword of Conan, issue 80, September 1982 has a story entitled "The Colossus of Argos."

Thanks Vincent, I have all those old Savage Swords, I'll have to go back and read that one.
