May I see photos of your fleets please

Great job Capt. K!

You've got some nice, rich blues in your Minbari fleet and I really like your Centauri fleet.

Thanks Friendly Fire. I am a big fan of your EA fleet. I tried painting an Omega and just ended up with a big cack grey brick, not inspiring at all. Only ships that looked OK were the Hyperions, forgot to take a photo of them, and they aren't anything like as nice as my centauri or Minbari

Wow, wonderful paint jobs...sigh makes me want to throw my fleet in the bin in jealous despair though and take up a hobby that I might actually be good at!

I just noticed, on your Primus you have the dorsal fins facing backwards. Interesting look, actually...

Oops, not deliberate, I guess the builders had a bad day at the space docks. I could mitigate my foolishness by saying these damned things never come with instructions!

Please don't, I have been painting figures for over 30 years, for most of that time I have looked at others models and said, damned that's better than mine how do they do that. Believe it or not I have NO artistic ability at all, it is all tricks and techniques I have picked up over the years.

Centauri are fairly easy to paint and look great with all that silver bronze and purple everywhere.

Minbari are tricky, but I got my wife to help out with her airbrush for part of that and then just built up lots of layers to make the effect look more subtle.

Enjoy the game, I am always inspired when I see better ships than mine. Look at Friendly fires EA fleet, it is superb.....

I shall have to come along to an open day or something one day and let you all beat me. I am not a compteition player, just play for fun, that's my excuse and I totally reject any accusations that I am just rubbish at the game and pick large colourful looking ships with lousy stats just because they are large and attractively coloured....

G'Quans are pretty though aren't they....

Oh don't worry I do, I was only joking...though send me a PM if you ever put your ships on e-bay ;)

Hi guys,

As per request I have done a quick pic of my Omega. Strange thing is it's a rubbish model and the apintwork is dull and uninspirinf, BUT the flash makes it look quite good. So I can only say it is much worse than it looks. Would I have made a good sales person??

The Hyperions below are deffinitely not my best paint jobs, but they are lots more interesting than the Omega, not sure this picture shows that...

Now inspired by all the kind words I got, I went and repainted my AOG Frazi fighters, which I much prefer to the teeny weeny ACTA scale ones. I am really happy with these models, and unlike the pics of the Omega don't think it does them justice.

And yes I did realise when I was editing the picture that one of the Frazi's is pointing the wrong way... Stupid Narn....

Captain Kremmen - love your Centauri. friendlyfire, your 'squished' hunters still look better than the official model. I prefer to call them streamlined. Here are my fleets in order of creation:

if i ever figure out how to take a picture of my fleet without the camera shaking like crazy (and ruining the picture) i'll post it. i think the Victory may be throwing the auto-focus off for the other ships.

anyway,
i don't care much for the typical minbari color scheam (except for fighters) so i painted my Sharlin and White Stars in a black and silver scheam with some ships having a little gold here and there. the Sharlin looks prety cool

i also have a Dag'Kar that's painted sort of a purple and blue. (i bought and painted that model before i'd actually seen Babylon 5)

Try changing the macro setting - this will allow you to take clear pics of small objects (it's a flower pot symbol on my digital camera). Also a tripod comes in handy - use this with the timer and your pics should be clear. The timed camera on a tripod prevents any type of shaking regardless of how steady your hands may be.
