Maximus vs. Darkner... or both?

I can see the Maximus being the most used Centauri skirmish ship, with their durabilty and firepower but how does the Darkner compare? Really digging the Darkner's beam weapons, but with its light armor and low damage and crew, it might not last long in a game. Any experience with Darkners? and are they worth to field in a 5 pt. Raid game?

Myself i never use the darkner, i'd pay points & use a raid ship instead.

both. as you said maximus is good and tough, makes ideal init sink, whereas the darkner can boost the number of lasers in your beam team.

Darkner and Maximus, i like both, i see them as complimenting each other.

Both are good little ships. Personally though if youve got 2 skirmish points to spare Id take 1 Sullust over 2 Darkners most days

Tried both in 3 battles lately (yeah i'm new to the game ^^) and each time the maximus did an excellent job. His survivability is great and his weapons aren't that bad at all.

Not that i was disapointed in the darkner but it's just a little bit too fragile for my taste. I like tough ships (Who said sulust ? )
