On the more forward-looking front, we managed to get a lot of things moving. We have started negotiations to give Wargaming Online the publicity and technological boost it has always needed to push it to the forefront of downloadable wargaming material, which will be good news for anyone thinking to support the OGL nature of the new BF Evo games. We have also started negotiations which, if they come to fruition, will solve just about every problem we have ever had with miniatures production, in terms of both quantity and quality (CTA fans, do not get too excited - this will take the best part of a year to put into place).

Was looking at the Mongoose Blog and saw this. I know it will take a while to start mini production back up, but at least there are plans! :)

Looks good to me, in the meantime I will have more than enough model to build and paint when they come in.

Thanks One 8)

But you can never have more then enough models.

You are so right!

I have 8 fleet boxes and some loss stuff to make fleets that will need to come some time soon now, so I will be busy untill they start again whit the production.

This is a major development. However, have a lot of care --- Mongoose has had a lot of projects like this (prepaints?) that haven't gone far. But some have succeeded, too ..... ACTA itself is one of them.

This likely implies that quite a goodly bit rides on the quality of the Powers and Principalities text. The quality of this product will drive ACTA sales projections which determine if the ACTA minis project is worthwhile. It really needs to hit the big, big issues:

1). Fleet breakdown structure
2). Ship balance
3). The Gaim

.... no pressure, guys! </sarc>.

Ill tell you not to get your hopes up. No offense intended to the staff at mongoose But Weve been burned by them before. We'll just have to wait and see.

I thought they'd already solved every problem they had with mini production?

No minis, no production - no problem!

In my imagination, I'm already dreaming of someone like PP taking over production and the new models actually having "oooh, thats nice!" type quality (as opposed to a range between "What the heck?" and "meh, its ok", while also being produced in good time/quantity and from more local facilities.

Little nagging voice in the back of my brain telling me it can't possibly happen and I've already bought enough ships though. (if they ever arrive anyhow)

The remaining problem they're having with miniatures production is the complaints that they've stopped. The negotiations are with a Mr Bubba, and I believe you're top of his list of people to visit ;)

<cough> Gravus...<cough, cough>

I do get your point though :-)

If this comes off then that is great news,
However the only downside i see is that it seams that they are negotiating with a third party,
But it has been stated elsewhere that,The licance with WB prohibits a third party from produceing ACTA mini`s.

If the negotiations are for MGP to rent capacity at a foundry or something, I suspect that it would still count as MGP producing the models for licence purposes.
IANAL, etc, etc.
