Masters of War Border Dispute scenario question

Greg Smith

Mongoose
In the Border Dispute scenario, ships deal mock damage, doing 1 point for each AD on target. How does this work with Shadows and Vorlons? Does adaptive armour apply?

well DD and TD apply so guess AA would too.
cant actually see many people playing the force them off game anyway, gonna be kill, kill, kill all the way.

I've put a list of questions in the main forum, and LBH has added to it...
Was this scenario even playtested with anything other than the stated Drazi/Brakiri fleets?!?!?!

Its Flawed to hell for other races;

In one example (Centauri Vs ISA), a Tertius could lock its beam weapon, and force one W/S per turn. This would be too one sided, to fleets that rely on their technologies to help fight. Shadows, and Vorlons would have a field day too. I think Dilgar would have a field day, just because of the number of weapons they carry. Meanwhile Minbari, Vree and ISA would suffer.

Hope to win initiative, and make it real straight away. Thats my plan.

You dont have to win, just delare you are attacking when its your turn and any ships that were mock damaged will ignore the result. Surely this will include those being forced to withdraw (but still on the table)

not really, you still have to get them down to zero "mock damage" so its like having a damage system which gets ignored as soon as someone fires normal weapons

well i still think any race but the narn will be making it real straight off so they can use their long range weapons.

You still have to hit. Dodge and interceptors would apply. Though quite how it works for shadows I cannot see.

Thats the point Greg, its automatic, look at the scenario; "It will automatically deal one point of damage per AD", no roll to hit is made.

Actually it says '... for every AD it can place on target.' Which to me maens you have to actually hit.

Which Matthew has confirmed here: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22277&highlight=

no he confirmed you get all traits, so need to be able to beat stealth and your opponent would get to dodge any AD and halve it. but nothing about rolling to hit, it does just say for every AD you can lpace on a target, thats fairly clearly worded in itself.

Queston 4 isn't answered! It doesn't say which answer is correct.
The way I read it, you don't roll against hull, if you have a 4 AD weapon then you get 4 hits, which can be dodged etc as normal.

Actually he's confirmed no roll against Hull to hit now, I'm off to post a fairly exhaustive list of clarification requests
