just wait for it to be renamed Snickers, then see where we all are!

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to say that :)

I'm shocked and disgusted that I was the first.

I'm also totally disgusted at myself for not attaching a funsize snickers to a flying base, taking a photo and claiming it was a scratchbuilt marathon.

LMAO!

You could even place it in orbit around Mars.

Don't forget, Marathons are over 26 miles long, so this is a Fleet Action scale model.

you had me confused there for a minute before I realised what you were on about. I try not to think about things like athletics, far too healthy for the average gamer ;)

Back on the point:

Speed kills!!!!!

long ranged ships work best with a speed of 4, maybe even less. I had an Oct of speed 2 once.

God it ruled!

Speed 12. You have to move 6". Can easily overtake enemy ships. This puts the Marathon firmly on the flank, so that it can go slowly towards the midle of the enemy and mayb strafe the whole enemy fleet, do to its fast speed.

You can stop being shocked, I've been making the same bad joke for the last month or so, but mainly off forum

the effects of a primus are devastating, you must be the unluckiest man alive with it.
LOL, the first every game David played was against me (5 point Raid) and his first shot of the game was with his Primus and outright killed my Omega!

Guess it was all downhill from there :P

I like the marathon alot, especially because of it's advanced jump point. This thing is a bom! I would use it to jump most of the time!

But the crusade era has alot of dificulties for the EA, it's strongest weapons are Boresighted while the best small ships are the cronos and they are raid level. You realy are forced to take hyperion assault cruisers and hermes transport vessels, who don't fit into the new EA picture... Yust one nice skirmisch ship for this era would save a bucket of trouble for EA players. Say a survey ship with limited capabilities, a police cutter. (a spacelane protector)

Cya Rynar 8)

How about a high tech patrol corvette to replace the Tethys as a skirmish level choice, that would plug the gap nicely I think. I dont mind not having a patrol level ship as: a) EA fighters rock, and b) even really small ship of that sort of tech level has cant be patrol as it would just be a tad unfair. Look at the Minbari list for example.

That said I dont mind 'having' to use the Chronos lots as it is the proverbial canine's genetalia

yeah but the Minbari raid, battle and War ships are SO good that they really dont NEED smaller ones, also stealth and superior weapon arcs means they can get away with being outnumbered more :P

superior weapon arcs maybe, but stealth isnt so good versus crusade, delphi sitting somewhere away lowering it. nemesis has HELtrack. thats the disadvantage to becoming high tech, you lose your low level ships. hell at least you got patrol ships, the minbari dont. if you want numbers use ur hermes and assault hyps to up the numbers so the big ships can lay the hurt down. plus hermes arnt to bad with 2AD of missiles each.

I disagree that our strongest weapons are boresighted, as logn as you can burn out you targets interceptors (IF they have them) i think Flash missiles are crusade Era's weapon of choice.

2 Apollos and a delphi in 5 point raid, gotta love 16 AD flash missiles from 30" away
