manta prowl tank

what info on the Manta Prowl Tank is in the RPG core rulebook? is it anything more than the cutaway diagram available online?

I've a hankering and a reckoning to build one, but online source images are very limited and my memory from the comic is very hazy (and the graphic novel collections haven't got there yet)...

any links or pics?

Not much - some stats but little else. Think there might be more in the Guide to the justice department?

nope... I dived in and took a chance and bought the Guide to the Justice Department thinking that would have stuff on it, but there is only one reference to the Manta that I can see and that is just to describe how unlike it most H-wagons are...

well I'm on Volume 6 of the complete case files and no sign of it yet... I remember it appearing in the comic when I read it regularly (there was a big test flight strip if memory serves) and I'm just starting to get to stories that I remember now so it may yet show up.

looking at the rough dimensions on the cutaway it's a tricky one... the main hull is 2 lawmasters wide plus manuovering space and a couple of consoles for bike bay control - and the main hill is then at least 3 times longer than it is wide.... but the problem is that the main hull needs to be tall enough for a 30mm fig to stand, and yet be tapered enough to get that thin wedge effect.... overall, from a test hull I did, it would need to be maybe a foot wide..... just too impractical... may have to do with a H Wagon

Thought about using Manta Prowl Tanks but they were, like you say, too big/impratical to make. Also, they would have enough firepower to wipe out your average street gang in the blink of an eye. I believe there are some good pictures at the end of the Doomsday for Dredd storyline.

the complete case files have been a curse for me... they're great, but are sending my ideas spiralling out of control.... I haven't even finished painting my judges yet and I want something more for them...

well by an odd co-inkydink the case files vol 7 arrived today.... aside from a dodgy pink cover, it has the debut of the Manta Prowl Tank (and Cry of the Werewolf to boot)....

some unarmed citizens, juves and eldsters - a bit of background fodder

If you need Mutants, why not try your bits box. I've got a model to represent each mutation result and I'm starting on Juves for each as well. Just hack and slash some Hero-clix and old D&D figs. You gotta use up some of that old lead anyhowz. :wink:
