Manouvre to shield them!

Can you Manouvre to Shield Them! with multiple ships protecting the same vessel? If so, how do you resolve it - do you select one ship per incoming shot, or does a firer have to beat all potential defenders in opposed crew quality tests to hit his target of choice?

I think we need to start saying which game we're playing now :)

Assuming B5 ACTA... yes multiple ships can do it. Each one would get a chance to shield the target; therefore the attacker would have to beat all of the shielders to attack the original target.

Cheers.

Yeah....was kind of hoping I'd missed something - this will not end well for the brakiri as my opponent has suggested the concept of shoving a mass of havens in front of his battlecruisers. We weren't sure if that would work or not.

With three or more shielding havens I won't win that many straight opposed CQ checks and any graviton beam fire gets wasted in a ludicrous display of overkill, and by the time the bleeding thing's charged again I'm in ion cannon range, and for what I am about to receive....

Well as long as you've got at least 2 ships, one can have unimpeded fire... manouver to shield can only protect from one attacking ship :)

Are you in a campaign and committed to using the Avioki? If not, you could use the Kaliva. Its gravitic lance is not as hard hitting per shot but it's not slow loading and it has almost double the range. Incidentally, a Haven suffering from massive overkill is almost as good as an energy mine, especially when there's a nice tight cluster all trying to shield the Primus.
