I've scanned through it. It provides a breakdown of the Darklands region by region, includes the real and visible political powers, has rules for curruption, and also has an overlying narrative structure to it to make it a fun read.

I have only flipped through it still, but from what I've seen and read I am happy to have purchased it. I'm afraid it will be a little later before I can give you a firmer opinion, and also I assume a comparison to the old Darklands d20 suppliment is what you are looking for?

The d20 version had several character and monster classes in - have those been translated into their d10 equivalents?

I think because of the lack of space in the book. However, there is still an updated Bestiary.
