for the abbai how about variations the theme of 'hippy' 'peacenik' 'treehugger' and so on

For the drazi Im thinking more along the lines of AHHHH!!! BANZAIIII!!! and CHARGEEE!!! (seriously though names that sound a bit like droshala and other drazi gods mentioned on the show work well)

As for the vree. Well if you want to use glyphs you can pretty much do anything you like but it would look better if you try to keep it to simple geometric shapes, make it too complex and it will look silly.

I've always liked the Ian Banks ship naming schemes. Perhaps, in this case, explainable as translations...

Basically, longish phrases, often with a bit of cynical humor behind them, even a few puns...

"Peace In Our Time"
"The Diplomatic Pouch Is Empty"
"The Bigger Stick"
"Abduct This!"
"I Brake for Cows"

OK, perhaps not too good, but it's a start...
