Legend Distribution/Availability

Piperdog

Mongoose
I know the release is for the end of October, but usually new releases are announced on online retailers ahead of time and take preorders, at least in the U.S. I have been checking some of the bigger online rpg retailers and there are no preorder announcements yet even. When will Legend be made available for US retail?

Near the end of the month!

So I presume that the PDF will be available sometime next month?

It's tough being down here in Australia where we usually get the PDF version before the physical copy....

Yes! I kept checking my favorite online gamestores for any sign of Legend, and finally today, it is appearing as a preorder on a number of sites. Any day now gents.

I just placed a pre-order direct from Mongoose. It was $26.99 with standard shipping.

My one previous experience with ordering from Mongoose was overall favorable. I placed a big order back when the half-off sale started and had my order in about a week. The only complaint I had was the crumbly pink packing peanuts. I ended up vacuuming them off of and out of the books. (static electricity)

I am giving several copies of the RQ2 core rule book as Christmas presents to friends I am trying to entice (or shame) into giving RQ2/Legend a try. I hope I got all the pink peanuts out. :)

Do we know what the differences from mrq2 to legend or is it just a repackaging?

What is my incentive to buy?

If you already have MRQ2, IMO opinion there's less incentive to buy the Legend Core rules. I already have the MRQ2 core rules. I probably will buy the Legend Core rules anyway for the following reasons:

1: It's only a tenner
2: it's a smaller A5 format, so can stick it in my bag easily to read on a bus, train whatever.
3: The rules are apparently getting cleaned up somewhat. I'm told Charging is better clarified. I'd be interested to see what else (if anything) is cleaned up.

I have to say tho the price is the main reason I'm buying it. A Tenner is a bargain. There's not much in the way of RPGs (in a physical book format) that you can buy for a tenner brand new these days. A tenner brings it right into the realms of an impulse buy.

I probably WILL buy RQ6 as well, just for curiosity, depending on the price.

I think i will wait till its out on PDF - it costs a tenner in postage to get here!

Actually, they are up now!

I really appreciate the rules updates between MRq2 and Legend. It seems that it doesn't really impact the Elric rules much.
Thanks for the updates! :)

Yeah, I know how it is Titus! By the way, I live about 40 minutes south of you, and will be up in Lansing this week for a couple of days (I am being sent to some job related training) but my evenings will be free, so if you are doing any gaming, let me know if I can sit in.

It is probably not the best session to have a stranger join us.

Tomorrow evening we are playing D&D3.5 at with a friend in a nursing home. The staff let us use a conference room just down the hall from his room. It is the final session of that game as we put their characters into semi-retirement. We also have another friend from Omaha joining us who usually skypes in. (He is in town for the MSU vs UofM game on Saturday.) I don't know how far along we will get. The next game is going to be MRQ2/Legend, probably the Age of Treason setting. We might get as far as creating characters, but I doubt it. The session is likely to be more socializing and less gaming than usual.

Another time, perhaps?

Titus,
No problem. I may be back up for more training in a few months, so maybe then. In the meantime, good luck with the Legend campaign!

Any news on a release date? I know it was supposed to be at the end of the month, but I thought there might be an announcement any day now that was more specific. :)
