Hello everyone,
I am a very new GM to the works of the MGP Traveller 2E RPG, and I recently ordered a couple of books (and a Fantasy Grounds Unity bundle) to get me started on this Sci-Fi system, and I am trying to sort out how the extensive product line interacts with each other. Below is what I have so far in grouping items by themes and subject matters, bolded names are placeholder; suggestions on how to improve this list is welcomed. :)

Welcome to the OTU, G!

First thing: You don't need the Explorer's Edition if you have Core Rulebook, The EE is a very basic, almost Quick Start set of rules and the Core Rulebook goes into far greater depth. Also, the Element-class Cruiser Deckplans include the Naval Campaign Guide.
Secondly you don't need to buy this whole list. For one thing, it's damned expensive. For another, you can easily get overwhelmed by all the information.
To get you started in the game AND the Official Traveller Universe [the OTU] my suggestion is this;
- Core Rulebook 2022
- Central Supply Catalogue 2023
- Behind the Claw
I suggest Behind the Claw because it gives you two sectors to play in [which is more than most PC groups will ever need] and it describes the major cultural aspects of the Third Imperium and how the frontier area is different from the main body of the 3-I. It delves into law, trade, the nobility, the military, the megacorporations and foreign relations [Zhodani, Darrians, Sword Worlders and Vargr], all in one handy volume. With these three books, you'll be able to run any campaign you want until you find out what you're players really like doing... then you go out and get the supplements that'll give you the most for your money.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will add that to my next "$150+ Order to Get Free USA Shipping" shopping list. :)
I will update my OP to indicate which items I already own (I forgot to do that before I posted).

I actualy found that reading the Explorer's Edition made it much easier for me to read the full rulebook, and I wanted it to share with any new players I might find in the future.

Any sugestions for the items I have in the "Unclassified" section? I didnt find much information about them on the Mongoose Store, or with a quick search through the forums.

Good point on the Specialist book, I missed the line on the product page that said "Requires the use of the Mercenary box set". Oops

Starship Operators’ Manual is a deep dive into, well, starship operations and how starships work. In my mind it’s akin to High Guard so could be listed in your Core & Accessories category.

Legend of the Sky Raiders is an adventure campaign originally set in Far Frontiers sector, which is on the spinward side of Foreven sector, opposite the Spinward Marches. I’m not sure if Mongoose plans to move it into an area they’ve already covered. I guess technically it’s “behind the claw” but that might be a bit of a stretch.

Pioneer is I believe a totally new game, using the Traveller system (much like 2300AD) but set in the very near future of our own solar system and probably different rules for ship design, vehicles, etc. I‘d say it would be in its own category as a separate but related game system.

Hope that helps, and thanks for the list 👍

OK, I have a soft spot in my heart for the Legend of the Sky Raiders adventures. These were produced by the Bill and Andy Keith, two authors who were HUGE in the early days of Traveller. A significant percentage of the OTU is their doing. The Sky Raiders trilogy was the first adventure that made exploration themes really interesting to me.
Rim Adventures is really only useful if you own The Solomani Rim and the Aliens of Charted Space 3, which contains the Solomani culture. And frankly, I personally avoid that whole area like the plague. Racism is a difficult enough issue here on Earth, so I see no need to bring it up in an RPG.
Starship Operators Guide is going to be a deep delve into the systems and operational procedures of starships in Traveller. It's essentially the 'flavor text' for High Guard. If it's anything like DGP's original, it will be a very interesting read [and I myself will probably buy the pdf], but it's not really necessary.
So if you intend to pick between the three, my vote is for Sky Raiders.
