LBH's painting, the next wave, and an odd realisation

Mongoose
So I picked up another Hawkwood fleet box, and another Vladimir, got my Dreadnought in the post, have purchased many fighters, and I've preordered an Osprey. And I have a battle damaged Wayfarer that needs a touch up :P

So I'm thinking all of the above will be done in canon Hawkwood colours, thus giving me a massive fleet of uniform blue and white.

But I'm thinking I might want more Griffins in the future, they are just tooooo good in a fleet. And I thought I could do the same detailing scheme but in other colours, use them to represent elite ships, or the time in orbit refit, maybe red, green, boltgun metal???, yellow/gold.... and then it struck me.

A Griffin done in the right way in the right shade of yellowish could look a lot like a Y-wing.

Or is that just me???
(After what I said about the Osprey on Saturday I'm worried it might be)

Take a look back at the thread "Question about figures I have", specifically this picture:

See that craft near the upper right corner? That's Airfix's attempt at a Y-Wing as part of a kit for a diorama based on the Battle of Hoth. (The X-Wings, the small Airspeeders and the bag of figures came from the same set.) I had that kit which is how I recognise the models. A lot of work went into converting the "Y-Wing" into something which actually looked like a Y-Wing. Perhaps I should not have bothered. :D
