Launching breaching pods

I know that if you buy wings of breaching pods, they are supplied with their own troops.

I know that if you swap your fighters out for breaching pods, you have to populate them with troops from your ship.

But what about breaching pods that is supplied on a ship (for example Secundus or Sleekbird)? Do you have to use troops fom the ship when you launch them, or do they come ready populated?

Similar thought:

A Balvarin carrier swaps out its fighters for breaching pods. So it launches all of its breaching pods, but it only has two troops. So do the other breaching pods just sit there motionless? or does the opponent not know which of the eight pods has the troops?

I would never do this, just kicking around a hypothetical situation.

If you don't have enough troops then you can't swap the fighters for pods. Well I guess you could, but you couldn't use them.

Original question still stands... will rulesmasters it ;)

They come from the ship. The Drakh refit table has extra hangers that adds breaching pods, and should the number of pods exceed the number of troops, it adds a troop. This was altered in playtesting, precisely so there would not be pods without troops to use them.

So if I convert all my fighters to pods then they first pull from the troops on the ship, then any others just kinda automatically get them? Is that what you're saying?

Cheers, Gary

No.

If you convert fighters to pods, don't do more than you have troops aboard the ships - they'll be useless.

Only the Drakh refit table gives you pods with troops if you need them

Intersting since so many people I play plan to use pods I think I will print this topic for referrence.

I was about to say that it was ruled at the Mavencon tourney that breaching pods use troops from the ship that brought them in.
So my Gaim carrier, after launching its pods, had that many fewer troops on board...
