Kitbashing models - Centauri style!

Hi - first off:

I'm not a sculptor and I'm only recently into wargames so have little experience at putting models together and painting etc.

That said...EA and Narn seem to be getting a ship or two by putting existing model parts together in different combinations...Matt said on another thread that they would consider ones for other races too so...I figure the lion of the galaxy should have a go as well :)

I haven't named, statted or given fluff to this ship yet (mainly because I wasn't sure how it would turn out) but I used the following:

1. Corvan (all the bits)
2. Vorchan (2 wings)
3. A couple of turrets from a Vorchan

This is what I got (not painted yet!)

What do you think - have I taken leave of my senses? ;)

It would make a neat Liati subsitute.

I like it. Simple. Elegant. It actually looks like the ship from "Star Gate SG-1" that the ___________* use.

*What race has Thor?

Asgard.

Very good, totally neat.

Congrats for such a fine ship.

And yeah it has a little Asgard look, ibut Centauri have more curves.

that ship design looks really good. I am going to have to steal it for a friend of mine.

since you are newish to modeling, I have a little advice for the putty/grey stuff you used to put the model together. either before the stuff sets or after you will want to trim it off where it shows. like the globs around the engines. you can either use a razor to trim it before it hardens or file it down after. I think you will see that it makes the ship look more sharp all polished up.

but like I said I like it. keep it up.

Thanks for the compliments guys - I just sort of threw it together, hence the very rough constructiion, after reading the Tantulus thread.

I have the parts for another one so will take some time and care in assembling it together, trying not to have so much putty showing! ;)

Hash,

one word of advice. Buy some dental picks. They are not expensive, and are great to use with green. Also, when you use the green. Use a little washing up liquid, to act as a medium. It helps smooth it out, and when it dries you rinse it off.
