Kickstarter - Complete and Thank You!

Al, Stretch Goal Rewards are a you get all of them that your Pledge Level is entitled to regardless if you pledge on the first day or the last day.

Quit a few people will pledge a buck so they can get access to any special forums and surveys that might be avaliable exclusively to backers then jump it up on the last day to a higher pledge level collecting any stretch awards that were added.

Yes, what "freebies" you get is determined by your pledge level, not by the date when you pledge. Depending on the project, some of the freebies may also be available to pledge for separately (irrespective of the pledge level you must select when you join the project) or there just may be plain extras that you can only get by "ordering" them separately. So if you pledge early you may need to adjust your pledge level several times during the project's run to get what you like.

This will be quite a big update!

Thank you!
First of all, two more stretch goals have fallen, and we will now be seeing not only the Sov Invasion force make its way into Mega-City One, but they can now be opposed by some true defenders of the city - Psi-Judge Anderson, Judge DeMarco, Galen DeMarco PI, and the Simian Sam Spade, Travis Perkins! Our grateful thanks to all of you for that, it may have been a long, long time before those four characters came out without your help.

Pat Wagon
Sandrine, our 3D designer, has been hard at work, and we can now add the Mk III Pat Wagon as a new pledge (you will find it under the $40 Tek-Judge level). If you want to show perps you mean business but consider the Manta to be an overkill (it is possible), then this armoured Pat Wagon, complete with riot foam dispensers and street cannon, is just what you need.

If you have already pledged and are after a Pat Wagon, it is not a problem - simply add $40 to your existing pledge and we will be in contact after the Kickstarter ends to find out exactly what you were after.

We are also adding the Pat Wagon to the Wally Squad, Council of Judges and Chief Judge levels, so if you have pledged at one of these levels, you are getting one anyway!

New Stretch Goal - Demonic Cabal & Exorcist Judge
Next up, new stretch goals - as promised, we are posting two at a time now, so you can see what is coming up. First, is a new force, one I have been waiting for a long time to add to the game.. The Demonic Cabal! Featuring a Grand Warlock, his minions (probably unemployed citizens who just signed up out of boredom), and demons ready to cause mayhem, they will spend their time courting powers man was not meant to know. With a mixture of possession and true summoning, they will be able to bring terror to Mega-City One - if they can control the demons they call upon...

With all these demons and Dark Judges flying about the city, the Justice Department is going to need some psychic reinforcement - so we will also add the Exorcist Judge!

New Stretch Goal - Pat Wagon Variants
If, with your kind help, we pass that stretch goal, we have another treat lined up. The Mk III Pat Wagon is a widely used vehicle and many are specialised for certain roles - we will add three variants, including a Fire Wagon and (very) heavily armoured Riot Wagon (complete with People Plough!). We will also add the Mk IV Pat Wagon, an anti-grav design (you can see it in the Block Mania story).

If you have pledged at Tek-Judge level or any other that receives a Pat Wagon, you will be able to choose the variant you are after (Chief Judge level, of course, gets one of each). If you have several Tek-Judge pledges, you may want to pick them all up anyway!

You can read more about the Pat Wagon and see more pics at Planet Mongoose.

Block War - It Is Here!
We have just posted the first draft of the Block War supplement on our web site, and you can download it from our web site. It may seem a little short at the moment, but remember we are adding to it all the time, and it will be updated several times during this Kickstarter and beyond. However, we have already managed to pack in the force lists for the Brit-Cit Justice Department, Citi-Def, a preview of the Manta Prowl Tank, and more Mercenaries and weaponry!

Justice Department Set II
We will soon be posting a detailed 'poster' that shows you all the choices you have for box sets at the Rookie, Street and Wally Squad levels. By popular request, we will also be adding a Kickstarter-only Justice Department II set, which will feature all the current judges not in the first set.

So if I up my pledge from Street Judge to Wally Squad Judge, do I have to take five box sets? Could I have three and a mixture of other stuff :?:

I have a lot of the older Judge Dredd releases and would like to maximize my investment in the planned new releases - unless we get to 5 new box sets!!!

I think there is every chance of that...

This is what I'm hoping for - I'd have gone for the Council of Judges pack but I have everything from the existing range I want so really don't want 10 boxed sets of the current range.

Officially, I suppose you should take what's on offer with the pledge level. That said, you might be able to persuade Mr. Sprange to fudge an under-the-counter kinda deal for you, but if everyone's going to want that then it's going to be a chore to manage the aftermath of the KS. It seems to get hard enough for many a succesful project anyhow.

In general, a KS project could be run like it's a regular shop but generally isn't, and they should not be taken to be interchangeable.

What's really needed is a pledge level between Wally Judge and Council of Judges for those of us who only want the new stuff.

For example a "Sector Chief" level that includes all the recently announced new stuff eg Lawmaster, Brit-Cit Judges, Zombie Horde, Elec Cordon, Dark Judges, SOv Invasion, Pat Wagon, Walter etc.

I think that would get more traction from those of us who have supported Mongoose in the past by buying the previously available miniatures.

We have just passed another stretch goal, thank you all very much for your continued support in this project. Demonic Cabals and an Exorcist Judge will be on your tabletops soon!

For the next stretch goal, we wanted something a little bit special, and have chosen something we have had a lot of requests for...

If, with your kind and dedicated support, we managed to pass the landmark $30,000 barrier, we will be adding something many of you have been asking for. While the main focus of this project is Judge Dredd, we can’t really ignore some of the other 2000AD universes out there, so we have decided to do a ‘one-off’ stretch goal, a single one devoted to these other worlds. We will therefore be adding Rogue Trooper, along with a Souther and a Nort soldier. There is a possibility we may do a separate Rogue Trooper game at some point, and so this will be a good starting point!

Not enough for you? Well, in that case we better add something else – the ABC Warriors will be coming too! We will be adding Hammerstein, Deadlock, Joe Pineapples, Mongrol, Mars Steelhorn, and Blackblood as a complete set.

What about Mek-Quake, you ask? Well, he won’t fit into a box with the others! We may add Mek-Quake (as a decent-sized resin model) as just one more ‘other world’ stretch goal a little later on, if the other ABC Warriors prove popular, and if you let us know you want him!

The ABC Warriors will be offered as a set that can be chosen at Rookie, Street, and Wally Levels, and of course will be included as additional sets at Council of Judges and Chief Judge levels.

Rogue Trooper, the Souther and the Nort will be added at Wally Squad, Council of Judges and Chief Judge levels.

Question, which version of the Dredd figure to we get from the Law Abiding Citzen pledge level? Do we get a choice?

Normally random, though you will have the opportunity to select one.

Two new items for you today.

First, we have added a new Kickstarter-only set - you will not be able to get these models as a single collection after the Kickstarter! Due to popular demand, we have added a Justice Department II choice, which gives you Judge Dekker, Chief Judge Caligula, the Academy of Law Tutor, Judge Dredd 1 and 2, SJS Judge, Cadet Judge and Female Cadet Judge in one handy package.

You are free to select this as one of your box set choices, if your pledge level gives you set choices, and it is being added to Council of Judges, Sector Chief, and Chief Judge levels automatically..

Second, many of you have asked us to a) provide a good view of the models in existing box sets and b) put back the concept art for the new sets.

You can get a poster of all these sets at http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/pdf/boximages.jpg

Another stretch goal has fallen, and specialist judges will be gracing tabletops all over the world - many thanks for your support in this.

We have a fair bit of news for you today!

1. A new stretch goal has been added. If your kind support can extend to $45,000, we will be adding four models from the Doomsday for Mega-City One storyline; Nero, two Assassin Droids, and Chief Judge Hershey. These models will be added to the Sector Chief and Chief Judge pledge levels.

2. If you are all wanting more after that, we are beginning to prep another stretch level, which will introduce some extremely well-known bad guys (and gals!) of Mega-City One to the range. More news on this if we pass the current stretch goal.

3. We have been overwhelmed by the support this project has enjoyed so far, so we wanted to give something back. To that end, we will be creating 'weapon packs,' selections of weapons from the comics that you can use in dioramas, on bases, or conversions to equip your forces as you see fit. We have not yet collated all the weapons that will be appearing, but there will at least be Close Combat, Pistol, Rifle, and Justice Department weapon packs, and maybe more! If you want your judges armed with Stub Guns or the Mk I Lawgiver, or want to beef up your Fatties (!), this will be an easy way to do it! We will be adding at least one weapon pack (and maybe more!) to every pledge level from Street Judge upwards. No need to do anything, you will find these goodies in the package(s) we send you.

4. Something for you all to think about. From the time we get actual miniatures in our hands to the time we have an actual box set can be a month or more. So, you have a choice whether to receive the miniatures as soon as we can get them to you, or wait for the actual box set to be made. No need to decide now, but it is something we will be asking at the end of the Kickstarter. All depends how badly you need to get your hands on your new models!

5. Finally, we have added a new pledge level, Med-Judge at $900. This is a very special (and limited) reward as we will, on your orders, be commissioning one of our painters to paint any one box set you choose to Studio Level. The models these guys are capable of are exquisite, and you will not be disappointed with the results. It will take a little time to do this, of course, and so we have limited this to just 16 backers for now. However, if you want the finest Judge Dredd models in your block, this is the way to go.

We still have lots coming up in this Kickstarter project, from rulebook and Block War supplement updates, to new models being unveiled, to maybe another freebie a little later on down the road. Our grateful thanks to everyone who has joined us thus far - we really appreciate your support and you are certainly helping to make the Judge Dredd miniatures game one of the best supported of its type.

Something for you to think about Mr Sprange, maybe having a real cheap level just for a weapon pack. Personally I'd be wanting a few of them, and it might tempt people in to get started on the Kickstarter in the first place. Due to size the postage would be minimal, and modellers of any type of wargame would find them useful.

Some of them are complaining about the quality of the casts. I have bought most of the boxed sets and none of the models have problems
I concur, I have quite a few judges, the apes and punks. they are all very good sculpts. There is very llittle flash and have yet to have a miscast. Detail is always up to par, much more than the foundry ones I would say
On this often debated subject, some pix from what is a recently arrived patch:

While I can't really absolutely vouch for the person who thook the pix, it seems not everyone is equally lucky since some of those models don't look too good to me. OTOH some aren't by any means bad considering the average miniature quality, even if there are little problems. A bit oddly there apparently is variety in casting quality even with the same mini. I assume they would be from different production runs.
