Just ordered some gangmembers from EM4

What are other good manufacturers to go with? I already have two boxes of the plastic gangers, and I've ordered some of the mohican'ed savages and exotic rebels from EM4. Are Foundry any good? I've found the 2000AD series of models to be a little too tall for GoMC, but I haven't got any of the actual Judge Dredd universe models, just Torquemada and Hammerstein.

Those models are meant to be tall.
The others should be fine if you aren't scalecreep.

Well, I have some of the original Judge Dredd figures from GW from the 80s', and some of those are pretty small in comparison to the Mongoose figures. Chucking Foundry figures into the mix will probably just show that scale difference up even further! :D

I just got my em4 minis today, they're really very nicely done and the level of detail is fantastic (much better than their plastics!). But, they're coated with some kind of plastic-y substance. It's like a sprayed undercoat, but slightly transparent. What is it? And can I just undercoat as usual and start painting?

I've no idea what the coating is, but I have painted directly on top of it with no problems (using standard acrylics).

Cheers,

Steve

Yeah, I've already started painting, so it's too late now! I did a conversion to the guy I intend to be as my Top Dog:

The 'plasticy coat' is undercoat.
Probably an earlier cast of the mini.
Later ones are bare metal, remember, none of them are actually Em4, they are Grenadier. It's perfectly fine to paint over.

Meh, the original GW JD minis aren't too great in my opinion.
The Foundry ones woul dbe better by far, by selling the GW ones seperately, it wouldn't suprise me if you had enought to get a nicer, new version and have money on the side!
Foundry are very slow at releasing them though, I particularily want the ape gang.
I have seen a lot of the sculpts, they just won't cast them! :(
