Just a couple of questions

Hya, having read through my new rule book (yay it's shiney and new) I have a handful of questions, aside from the obvious why can't it be in a better condition, and was wondering if anyone could clear them up.

1) In the planetary assault scenario do the fighters and such now benefit from the traits of their weapons when attacking troops?

2) When attacking with an atmospheric ship such as a Whitestar, can you attack troops? (e.g. to attack a planet's troops with an atmospheric ship you only need to go onto the planet, so can attack them after coming out of hyperspace but to attack emplacements you need to orbit or stop above the planet which you can't do straight from hyperspace)

3) The generic station is listed as carrying 8 fighter flights, does the owner get to choose which fighters from his list they are, or are they some kind of generic fighters? (e.g. could an ISA player put whitestar fighters in them, or an EA player use Firebolts)

4) What do the Drakh do in terms of the station, since they have no fighters?

5) And finally, is the in service date of the Falkosi a miss-print, 2288+ seems a bit late for a basic fighter type?

1) The only trait that matters would be double damage or beam and ap, that they do get.

2) I'd say yes, it happened on Mars.

3) Probably have to rulesmaster this. I'd normally invoke Rule 7 if someone pulled out whitestar fighters on me (aren't Nial enough?)

4) Breaching pods maybe? I'd probably suggest the player could use 2 raiders instead.

5) I've seen this elsewhere. It'll probably turn up in the errata.

If your rulebook is in such bad condition take out all the pages and put them in a ring-binder (I have)

edit: DD only affects emplacements, sorry.

1: yes you can use all traits including AP, SAp etc etc
2: yes but you can only do 1 troop damage per hit even with DD TD weapons
3: interesting point, definate rulesmaster one.
4: another for rulesmaster i guess
5: its in the 2e FAQ pdf and yes its ISD is wrong.
