JMS update pics

Jeez... I just think they seriously bumped up the mass of those things...

And in the last scene of B5, weren't there 3 Hyperions... and 3 White Stars? And where are the Drazi Warbirds/Sunhawks?

I am a geek... and EXSTATIC over this. Wooo Hooo! More Babylon 5.

Maybe it's a new lighter vessel that uses the Primus hull design? Only reason I can think of for why it's so much smaller than the Sharlin.

I don't think it's supposed to be the same scene - JMS says something about the 10th anniversary of the ISA, so we won't be blowing the station up just yet!

Is that an Olympus above those two Furies on the left?

Maybe the Sharlin is just THAT massive...perhaps Armageddon level for them? Anything higher would have to be Apocalypse PL.

Yes it is. Was there one at the end of B5? I honeslty can't remember.

Shhhhhh!

Don't give MP any ideas. Armageddon was bad enough. No reason to go BIGGER.

It also looks like the Hyperion is in front of that Vree ship. If that's the case that thing is freakin' HUGE!

Quite honestly, I think the whole perspective of this shot is screwed up... but I do see what you mean about the Hyperion.

The Vree saucer is as big as an Avioki? Unlikely... at least as far as I could see in "Shadow Dancing" it's not.

At first I thought that was part of the station, but there wasn't anything there...

To be honest it looks most like one the shuttles from the original Battlestar Galactica...

bit of a strange picture really, the Hyperion looks bigger than both the primus and G'Quan, and as you say HUGE Sharlin? dunno whats goin on, maybe just a dodgy composit image

I very much doubt (I hope) that JMS would do something like make the Sharlin so amazingly large. Sure, they were always one of the biggest ships inthe B5 universe (yet very small from mongoose) but far far too big!

Not too bothered by precice scaling of things. Besides it could be a command ship or something :P

Regardless, that shot looks very very cool and if all the CGI in the new shows has been pumped up to that quality I will be looking forward to this big time :D

It's an Olympus - you probably won't see any AoG/Mongoose designed ships in B5 ever. It's very rare that something from ancilliary material gets added into the primary Canon like that.

"Even during the very height of our republic, we never dared challenge the Minbari" - perhaps because their ships were honking huge and had big scary green beams of death.

I think the only time we've seen a G'quan and Sharlin on the screen together in realistic proximity is during the hyperspace linking shots showing the combined earth/army of light fleet in Endgame? The vree saucers were waaay smaller there, too. G'quan was probably the same in length as 3/4 of the Sharlin's height.

Edit - mind you, the Vree Saucer is much closer to the camera. It could all just be forced perspective that's making the scale odd.

The Hyperion is in front of the Vree saucer, similarly the Sharlin is behind the Primus - making them much, much bigger.
