How to lose a game.

Dice Karma? fine, whatever!!!

I have found that i tend to roll very poor mostly with SPECTACULARLY amazing rolls (like once a game) to cheer me up, I spend lots of money on dice, mostly coz I either throw them out the door or donate them to my mate.

I hate dice games!!!

The dice do the complete opposite for me when I'm running demos, trying to get people into the game. Every damage roll I make seems to be a crit to the vitals. ;(

One of the reasons I've found that intros work best when both sides are being played by people in need of intros...or you could just use loaded dice set to roll 1's. lol

Maybe I can change that tomorrow night. :D

Im the same, buying nice colors and patterned dice doesn't seem to make a difference to my luck but they look damn good.

I think in Tanks case, if you made a die. That had 5 sides with 6 written on it, and 1 with a zero. He'd be getting zero's, 50% of the time

I hope so, or at least you'll have prior warning. :)

When I was demoing ACTA to James Albright, I rolled a crit, vitals on his vorchat with a fighter. Instant boom. ;)

Seeya tonight!

Overall im ok with dice.

It is very game related for me though....... Necrons i suck at with rolling. CSM is kinda ok, and ACTA im very good.....

Now this makes even less sense than anything else, but its an observation of mine.

Like when i manage to get in 1, read "ONE" only a single attack with a nonprecise nonDD/TD weapon past the EA interceptors it has a 75% chance of going for a crit.

Once i had an apollo with Heavy missles on my octurions back; yeah that was very bad; turn afterwards my prefect escort makes a full turn and goes for a 6-6 critical with his Matter Cannon after failing abysmally with the Battle laser (2 bulkheads no crits on 4 hits). End result still a dead Apollo that even removed the escorting fighter swarm.

Now if my Necrons could roll as well as that :S

I rarely have normal luck.

I can have days when everything goes right (2 imperial guard tanks land battlecannon rounds square on a guardian squad and kill nothing, or my raider strike carrier blows away an undamaged victory-class destroyer in a single shot)
and days where nothing goes right (lost no less than 12 dogfights in order when I was either equal or at an advantage), but I rarely roll "the average".

Flukey criticals are one of the best bits of call to arms. It's perhaps the one reason why I wouldn't add the suggested redundancy X traits..

Guess the idea of my three months of campaign advantage dissappearing in one bad battle because a couple of flukey crits killed my war ships does not strike me as 'fun'.

One off game sure, I'll just set up another.

But big dice one way or another just do not make me happy. If I have big dice or my opponent bad I don't feel I won anything. I like the feeling of winning, I like knowing I worked at it and did better with limited resources than my opponent. If the dice decide who wins too much, it feels like I could have just sat a monkey in my chair and gone out for a drink.

Dont be like that, remember it is after all a dice game, these things happen, Im sure the monkey would love to go out for a drink but sometimes that can be mildly insulting to a normal opponenet  (being compared to a monkey that is)
