How does my dilgar fleet look?

Heyo.

Just looking for some feedback on making a good balanced fleet if thats even possiable but here a quick idea of what i hope to get.

1 Dilgar Imperium Fleet Box Set
1 Mankhat Dreadnought
2 Dilgar Garasoch Heavy Carrier
1-2 Dilgar Kahtrik Assault Ship
Dilgar Thorun Torpedofighter/Thorun Dartfighter not sure on numbers but i dont think the fleet box will have enough. Most likely at least 4 blisters of each.
4-8 Dilgar Jashakar Scout Ships
3 Tikrit Heavy Cruiser(even tho there battle, I like them as a ship loads of bolter death)
2 Rohric Assault Ship
Targrath Strike Cruiser/Ochlavita Destroyer (i know theres a good few of those in the fleet box nothing wrong with a few more of each :P)

Thats my total, I'm hoping to get and proberly some of those handy counters if i can find anywere that sells them :).

The fleet idea is have a balanced fast hitting attack force. After reading the little article in signs & portents(thanks guys).
Any advice or feedback would be great.
Cheers.

I assume u are getting the old box(better in my opinion =).

Your list looks nice, maybe get a Wahant instead of one of those Tikrits, if you are getting the new box, then you already have the Wahant and could use all those nice boltars  on those Tikrits.

About the fighters, you will need alot of em, and a about equally many of both sounds good.

It seems you have a fast fleet there indeed. IF you get the Wahant, then use it with those Kahtriks and Rohrics, to get a tank fleet =)

I was gonna get the "new" fleet box set as it were containing..

8 flights of Thorun Dartfighters
1 Tikrit Heavy Cruiser
1 Wahant Heavy Assault Ship
2 Omelos Light Cruisers
2 Targrath Strike Cruisers
3 Ochlavita Destroyers
1 Rohric Assault Ship

But i like my Tikrit's :P(14 front bolters yes please :D)

Whats the useal outling for a tank fleet?

You mean 18 AD front boltars :D

Kahtriks, instead of Omelos/Targraths.
Wahant instead of Tikrit
Rohrics instead of Ochlavitas

Maybe use some jashakar torpedoes for long range support(but they might be blown up fast since they are the only things with below hull 6 in your fleet :D...The opponent, should prey for crits against that kinda fleet =)

Hmm, 18 AD i thought it was 14 AD :P.

That is evil assault fleet. I must try it some time after my fast attack idea i like first. All in good time i guess.

I don't rate the Tank fleet, or the ships used to make it up. Too slow, and they lack firepower. Ok so they are bricks, but that is no good if you can't get to grips with the enemy ships and they slice you in half with several beams.

The fast attack approach I think is the best play style for the Dilgar.

The only thing I would say is get some more Ochlavitas, they are nice skirmish ships.

I, on the other side, have seen the Dilgar Assault fleet to devastating effect, as long as you stay true to the concept throughout and protect your Jashakar Vi's. Mixing this type of fleet with any Omelos, Targrath, Ochliavita, or Tikrit will result in a loss, pure and simple. The Khatriks are an amazing pain to kill, as are the Rohrics; they leverage Close Blast Doors to massive effect. The Wahant is the tricky ship to run here; everyone wants to kill those first, instead of your Khatriks. You need to sink, protect, and provide Thorun interceptor cover for them as long as possible. Leveraging Jump Points to initiate the fight with this fleet is particularly deadly. All beam ships can be problematic, as can retreating races, so this fleet has issues with Minbari, Vree, Drakh, Drazi, some Brakiri, and particularly Shadows. Vorlons normally would be a problem, too, but their main defense (an amazing ability to soak up damage with Adaptive Armour and Self-Repair) is simply overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of Dilgar firepower. You are particularly well-suited against Early-to-Mid EA, Centauri, Narn, Abbai, and Pak'ma'ra.

You forgot ISA...
Rank them as problematic, too. Fastest of the fast, agile as all get out, and TD Precise Beams...

I thought about it, and would, but....

... I decided not to. The Rohric is part of the answer here -- 2 45's in 5" provides an impressive turning radius, and Come About solves all issues, even though it gives up the benefits of CBD for a chance at a shot.

That wouldn't be enough, either, except that the Wahant has major regular 24" aft Firepower, and the Garasoch + Thorun Bomber combination is a major pain. You can't easily and reliably pick off individual Thorun with a few Nials either, due to the Fighter Pentacon rule. Even if the WS fleet CBDs, a given hit is usually 1/1 after Adaptive. In truth, the ISA went from ignoring Thoruns and Garasoch in 1st Ed. to having major concerns about them in 2nd; the 6" + 15" strike range is a major concern, and the Assault Dilgar fleet is more than capable of summoning up 8-10 fighter bombing waves. The Molecular Pulsars are good defense for this, but if you overfly and do the 180 degree flip, you will give them a free run at some target(s), and killing the Assault ships is so amazingly slow you may die to the fighters first.

It is worth noting that Warmaster Jha'Dur's Vengeful (Spiteful? I'm at work) property is particularly effective with this style of fleet against Trait-based ships that can be crippled, all but guaranteeing that Crippled means Destroyed. Only reasonable in Khatrik and smaller fleets, until you get to War-level conflicts.
