How do I do Daleks in EVO?

Kill and destroy everything on sight, not stopped by anything except a bloke in a suit and trainers and his easy-on-the-eye sidekick.

Although you did miss out the multiple captures, ludicrous escapes and really stupid ending that allows said bloke in trainers and his associated eye candy to actually defeat the pepper pots

This calls for custom card outlines and stats!

Let's see...

Factions: (Based off miniatures)
UNIT
Daleks
Cybermen
Martian Ice Warriors
Draconians
Autons
Sea Devils

Already have lots of Black Tree stuff :D

UNIT stats - I suppose just use the current USMC inf or specfor (assuming you are doing current era)

Daleks will be tough to stat. The power levels did a steady climb thorugh the years. I recall back in the baker Era when you could have a couple of guys with SMGs mow down a Dalek. Now in the News doctors era, they fly, and have force fields, and regenrate and... and...and... :)

Well, let cut a comprmise...maybe a series of pre-time war daleks?

Dalek Soldier
Size: 1
Move: 6"
Close Combat: D6
Target: 4+
Save: 4+
Kill: 7+

Justifications:
Move: Hey, you've seen the show...they're not that slow...
Target: While they're not slow, they're not exactly nimble
Save: Well, they're pretty tough...
Kill: ...that said, it's typically a heavy weapons that typically takes out a Dalek with any form of ease.

Looks about right.

Dalek Blasters From Pre-Time War era should be Range 24 and Damage d10

Let's see...special rules....

EXTERMINATE!!!!: The Dalek race views all other lifeforms with contempt. They have no hope, pity, or love. The shatter point of any Dalek force should be calculated to be 1/8th of the starting models, instead of 1/4th.

Dammit! Stairs!: This era's Daleks had trouble moving through difficult Terrain. All Difficult terrain movement costs 2.5 the cost of the movement, instead of just double.

Unit Upgrade: Heavy Dalek Cannon: One in six Daleks can carry this massive cannon that replaces the sucker arm and standard blaster. Change Close Combat for this unit to d6-2 and add the Dalek Cannon Range 40, Damage 2d10+2

(This was commented in the show that durning "Invasion Earth" that a Dalek took out a tank with one shot. Sobering notion, innit?)

The Special Weapons Dalek (I assume that's what Superjaded is referring to) from Remembrance of the Daleks should be an area effect weapon. We saw one blast from it take out multiple renegade Daleks.

Talking of which, you could have the two Dalek factions. In Remembrance ... at least, there were Davros' Imperial Daleks in cream and gold, and the Dalek Supreme's renegades in grey (mind you, an earlier serial had the colour schemes exactly reversed :) ).

I would suggest making the Close Combat score D6-1, but otherwise the stats look pretty good.

In Harlequin/Icon/Black Tree's Invasion Earth game Daleks couldn't hurt anyone who they beat in hand-to-hand.

Regular Daleks should have area effect weapons, extermination effects were frequently seen killing 2 or 3 people.

Some obserations based on the latest incarnation.

Move: Hey, you've seen the show...they're not that slow...

Well now they fly, apparently >100 knots if they want.

Target: While they're not slow, they're not exactly nimble

True, when they stick to the ground

Save: Well, they're pretty tough...

True, very true...

Kill: ...that said, it's typically a heavy weapons that typically takes out a Dalek with any form of ease.

Now they have some nifty force fields which seem pretty much impervious to anything!

That's why we're not going into the latest incarnation...given that human forces would be, effectively, helpless against them.

There are Time War Era Daleks getting smoked on The TV station Space Station, but that by VERY advanced Earth Tech. The Dalaks Hiro and I did were Mid Series 4th or 5th doctor Era Daleks. (Revelation of the Daleks, Daleks:Invastion Earth"

why can't the doctor go back in time and kill the daleks before hey kill all the time lords? and if the daleks can jump around in time why don't they do the same?

Hmm..just before they killed the other timelords? Lack of skill? Or maybe it just doesn't work that way?

And I think Dalek time travel is hap-hazard at best. Plus, the lack of depth perception hinders their efforts too.

well i remeber darleks going to weight of fire more than power of firepower.

maybe per enemy turn it ignores the first 10 hits it recieves. kills will kill it automaticly, but to kill one with small arms youd need weight of fire power.

weapon wise make it 1D6 plus size of target. for minus 5 shields it may may generate an extra D6 for minus 5 shields it may convert and D6 shot into a D10 plus size of target.

just a thought.
