How about Mongoose release new fleet lists during this year

Mongoose
I was thinking what would help cheer me up now that Miniature production has ended in terms of ACTA.

How about Mongoose release new fleet lists during this year in S&P?(other than the planned Gaim re-stat.)
Ok, we'll have to proxy or use counters (coughs.......hint hint Mongoose) but i know the thought of seeing the Ipsha, Markab,Hyach, Cascor,Lumati etc would make me very happy.
:)

Would this ease your ACTA pain? 8)

Given that 3 of those at least will appear in the fan written supplement it wouldn't ease my pain!!

I would need evidence that they are still supporting the game....

We've had a half-baked article on Carriers and an AAR in the last two months, and no new publications through July.

After the fiasco at the begining of this year, a little repair work on our trust is in order.

Well. . .

In next month's S&P, we have the new Gaim list, and I am trying to squeeze in the time to do that Raiders/Guerrilla campaign.

At Mongoose Hall we have a tournament running.

Work is continuing on Powers & Principalities, aimed for release end of July/beginning of August.

I would very much like to see a Dilgar Invasion book by the end of the year.

And as soon as we can squeeze them into the production schedule, we will be doing an all new range of counter sets.

How would that be, for starters at least?

would that be your Dilgar book or Ours Matt. Might be a bit silly for us both to do one!! Of course if Ours is great we wouldn't say no to you making it official ;-)

would love to see it some time hiff if you have time, @ Matt been working on a Raiders Campaign in my free time, thinking about adding alien raiders as well as human raiders.

I admit I got sidetracked onto another project. I will probably badger people again for stuff they have already sent me. My e-mail filing leaves a lot to be desired!
I need to look over the stuff you sent me for your own project at some point!

So it sounds like no painting guide then?

All laid out and just waiting for the photos to be placed within - just need to free some editorial time to tackle this one!

The painting guide would be, at best, a cruel joke with the cancellation of the model line, don't you think?

Given the number of models some people have bought recently, I think the timing is highly appropriate. . .

Any chance of some of the unofficial sourcebooks being made more official:

The JUYAIE! and Minbari Protectorate would make excellent additions to the present rules set.

Elements of the ECW sourcebook could form part of a cool "Lost Tales" supplement?

:)

Not at all, I'm going to have well over 200 total ships and fighters from all three EA eras, the Minbari, Brakiri, Vorlon, IA, and Psi-Corp. My good friend has Centauri on way. If I can find them in the future I plan to get some Shadows. Some other friends are getting some other fleets as well.

We are big fans of B5 and the game. We love looking at well painted ships and my friends and I will really find the painting guides useful, especially if they are all done like the preview photos shown in the forums.

We aren't giving up on ACTA just because the ships are no longer available.

I should point out that I won't find it as useful as my friends as a painting guide. My friends aren't as proficient at painting as I am and I will use it more for inspiration than as a how to guide.

What would the Dilgar invasion book exactly contain ?

Fluff and scenarios about the Dilgar war against the weaker and puny races  before there untimely and unfortunate extinction?
Would it be any good (do not want to use the word possible) to use let´s say Crusade age EA fleet list in the scenarios?

Thy.

Well, it's a start....

Again, though, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I "would like" to see all of this too, I'm particularly interested in the Dilgar Invasion book, our Gaim player is interested in getting his fleet back on the table. Going to the Tourney at Mongoose Hall is a bit out of reach right now, what with the US Dollar/Pound Sterling exchange rate being what it is.

I know new stuff is a priority. It seems to be the way of things in the wargaming business world. In many cases (pointing fingers at a LOT of other companies as well) we gamers see companies push new stuff at the expense of old favorites. It's a pity each of the gaming companies I'm thinking of can't be at my FLGS counter on Thursday nights to hear what we gamers have to say about it. In short, why start in on a new game when a company APPEARS to have abandoned an old game. What happens when the new game becomes the old game and the company moves on to something new? From your perspective, you expect me to buy into the new game. Don't assume too much.

OK... so they remove the whole ACTA webpage and move the stands and character minis to the roleplaying section? ummm... if they arent selling the ACTA minis why are they still posting the 25mm minis?

ABSOLUTELY! God only knows how much I spent this last couple months and I definitely want that painting guide as soon as it's available.

Cheers, Gary

Because they have them in stock and it's cheaper to keep them and sell them, than to have them destroyed.
