Mongoose
With the Emperor wars heating up fleet commanders looked for ways to boost the available firepower of there already existing warships as the increasing need of combat ready vessels grew on all fronts. While most houses were able to rush those ships nearest to completion into service, House Hawkwood took a different approach, already using a number of missile systems aboard there smaller vessels they begun experimenting with disposable launchers designed to fire only one volley of missiles. By doing away with the complicated reloading systems and using missiles which were self guided, these crude box launchers only had to be tied into the ships fire control. Providing a simple yet effective way to increase a vessels opening salvos.

These are experimental rules for those of you looking for something different. Any Hawkwood vessel smaller than a cruiser may purchase a box missile launcher for each turret the ship possesses. There are 3 types available. Note: The first weapon critical hit the ship takes will knock out all box launchers as the systems are all wired externally.

Four Tube Box Launcher: Range: 28 Turret AD:4 Special: Guided, Slow, One-shot Cost:10 points

Six Tube, Box Launcher: Range: 28 Turret AD:6 Special: Guided, Slow, One-shot Cost:15 points (Cannot be mounted on an Explorer)

Eight Tube, Box Launcher: Range: 28 Turret AD:6 Special: Guided, Slow, One-shot Cost:25 points (Cannot be mounted on a Frigate or smaller)

Box Launchers may not be added to a ship without a turret, no matter how large the ship is. Carriers may carry Boxes if they have a turret.
