Capping them at size eight was an unnecessary limitation that I promptly did away with.... someone did ask me to include size 9/10 robots...
Sadly, topic drift (often steered awry by what seem to be drunken Droyne) is the norm here.I was joking about that - but I was serious about dropping the subject.
That rule you mention is trying to use a mass measurement for volume. An average person is about 70 cubic liters. A "massive person" might be 100.You want us to stear away from how to fix your design?
A person will not fit in 40 slots of storage (the rules state storage is 2kg so you have 80kg max), but will fit in a 32 slot medical chamber, regardless of how massive the person is. So you save 8 slots.
Personally I would just rule that as it is worn rather than seated the person takes up 32 slots regardless.
Honestly, I was mostly wondering whether there was a 'Battle Dress' chassis type (similar to the 'cybernetic limb' chassis) on the worksheet that I was missing. And here we go again, the only direct scale comparison of a slot pegs 1 slot as 55 litres by volume equivalence.
It was just done to prevent overlap with vehicles. You could put the brain in a vehicle and then the size becomes unlimited using vehicle rules.Capping them at size eight was an unnecessary limitation that I promptly did away with.
Unfortunately, the robot rules don’t fully carry over to vehicles. At least not that I can see, not without adding things. I’ll have to look again once the book comes out.It was just done to prevent overlap with vehicles. You could put the brain in a vehicle and then the size becomes unlimited using vehicle rules.
(Yes, a metric-based uniform construction system, scaling from nanobots to robot planets, should be a thing, in my opinion as well...)
Singularity will be using some battledress as robots, so I think that’s a fair call.Okay, so Battle Dress slots are the same as Robot Slots; that means (at least some) armor and Battle Dress options are suitable for robots, cyborgs, and augments...
Looking at a clone who has (CSC p 20) Auto Helmet, Friend Or Foe HUD, Grav Assist, and a Life Support System.
Or, from Battle Dress modifications (CSC p 44): Advanced Laser AMS, Integrated Weapon Mount, Ion Shield, a Sensor Suite, and Stealth.
Speaking as a grandfather, this was EXACTLY what my Traveller was all aboutAre you sure?
