You want us to stear away from how to fix your design?

A person will not fit in 40 slots of storage (the rules state storage is 2kg so you have 80kg max), but will fit in a 32 slot medical chamber, regardless of how massive the person is. So you save 8 slots.

Personally I would just rule that as it is worn rather than seated the person takes up 32 slots regardless.

That rule you mention is trying to use a mass measurement for volume. An average person is about 70 cubic liters. A "massive person" might be 100.
Regardless, the volume-based rule tells us how to fit a sophont (double the slots for the size of robot frame).

And here we go again, the only direct scale comparison of a slot pegs 1 slot as 55 litres by volume equivalence.
Honestly, I was mostly wondering whether there was a 'Battle Dress' chassis type (similar to the 'cybernetic limb' chassis) on the worksheet that I was missing.

The Robots book does not have 'Life Support', so building space-suits, armor, and Battle Dress did not seem to have a direct link. 'Slots' for BD is not explicitly stated as being equivalent to Robot 'Slots' -- and Robot 'Slots' are a mess, but this is not the place for that discussion. I tried to convince Geir to tidy up (volume, power, damage) scaling in the upcoming Vehicles book, utterly in vain -- that thread was the appropriate place; I lost out, & have moved on.

I think there is a workable kludge, putting the pilot in a 'Medical Chamber' or 'Storage Space'. It seems like it will be impossible to replicate the existing examples of BD from CSC with the design rules -- but that is, honestly, absolutely routine fare for Mongoose Quality Control.
