GOMC-1 in the Old West

I know this has been raised as a topic before, but I've recently bought GOMC-1 and Legends of the Old West, and been thinking that the GOMC-1 rules (admittedly a little clearer in places, with examples and with large battle rules) would suit the old west very well.
Has anything concrete been done with this? My wargames society is thinking old west looks a good idea, and I'm thinking of converting them to using the GOMC-1 rules.

I'll try and come up with the most basic set of rules (ie basic gang and weapons) and take it with me to the open day.

Right, well I've written most of the conversion out in pen and paper, just got to type the damn thing up, and will run a small 7th Cavalry vs Indians game at the club on Saturday to see how it runs. It'll only be about 6 a side for the initial game, and I want to see what the changes I've made do.

If it works I'll add more detail to the system.

Westmunda could be a good source of inspiration, and (personally) I reckon GOMC1 would be a much better choice!
