[GK Games] News and Reviews

Freelance Traveller's February/March double issue is now available. Tons of Traveller goodness you get for the exceedingly low cost of free.

In this issue not only does FT contain two reviews of Gypsy Knights Games products but there is also a very interesting take on 21 Starport Places by creating one of those places using The Sims. The editor, Jeff Zeitlin, discussed doing this with me at TravellerCon and I've been looking forward to the results. You can see them for yourself as he translates Steve Johnson's plans for Big Al's Biscuits into a 3D visual.

Check it out!

And here we have the ubiquitous utility van. An everyday workhorse found almost everywhere within the settled worlds of Clement Sector, the utility van is a basic and reliable vehicle used for a multitude of tasks from delivering mail packages to grocery transport. Rear opening doors and sliding doors on each side provide for easy access to the rear cargo area of the van.

The utility van is just one of the vehicles detailed in 21 Vehicles, our newest product, which will be available as a PDF on March 13.

And here we have the AufzugPanzer Selbstfahrlafette APz.Sfl.VI Ausf C Langen Arm self-propelled rail gun.

The APz.Sfl.VI Ausf C Langen Arm (Long Arm) is the primary self-propelled artillery used by the ground forces of the Hub Federation.

The Langen Arm mounts a massive fully stabilized 180mm mass driver within a large turret allowing full three hundred and sixty degree movement. The advanced fire control system allows rapid firing of five rounds at differing elevations starting at high elevations then reaching a lower elevation. This ensures that the five rounds, traveling at differing trajectories, arrive on target simultaneously up to eighty kilometers away. By the time the launched rounds arrive on target, the Langen Arm can already be on the move to a new firing position.

The Langen Arm is just one of the vehicles featured in Gypsy Knights Games' newest product 21 Vehicles. 21 Vehicles will be available tomorrow (March 13) in PDF!

Will it comment on the differences between HG and the CRB, as highlighted in the current thread?

Can expand on what the book's brief is please?

A quick overview.

Anderson and Felix Guide to Naval Architecture takes both Core and High Guard SRD's and merges the documents together to provide a ship design system tailored to the Clement Sector setting. The distinction between a capital ship and a civilian ship is still kept however and entirely consistent with the current High Guard rule system. The Core (non Capital ship) Drive tables have been expanded to the setting's hull cap of 20kdT.

A capital ship is a pure warship over 2000dT and like the civilian ships is capped at 20kdT.

Starships cannot exceed 5000dT due to the Clement Sector settings Zimm Drive limitations. As such the jump drive section has been replaced by the Zimm Drive technology tables. Larger ships are pure in-system vessels.

However, there are many new components to choose from such as crew berthing, high class staterooms, gymnasiums, hydroponic gardens and new cargo hold types to name a few. A new section on point defence nodes and pre-gravitic drive design rules is also included.

In short there a bit there for everyone. So even if you do not use Clement Sector, it will still make a great source for all the additional information provided within.

Hope that answers your question.

I am pleased to announce that I have been invited to be The Gaming Guest of Honor at Mysticon 2016. This is a great convention and I'm proud to be a part of their guest lineup. If you are anywhere near Roanoke, Virginia in February of next year I highly recommend that you attend.

We will be there running games and participating in panels. So if you can make it out to the convention, we'd love to see you there! Though I must warn you to plan ahead as the convention typically sells out during pre-registration.

You can learn more about Mysticon at this link: http://mysticon-va.com/

LibertyCon is coming up in late June and I will be one of the guests there. They have now released the schedule for games and events.

I will be running three games there. Here's how to find me: http://libertycon.org/index.php/pros?pid=233&refer=3

Looks interesting. I just purchased some products for the Clement Sector recently, it's an interesting universe. I went to your blog but it really didn't have any more information than what you posted here. What exactly will be in this new Player's Guide?

Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it!

The Player's Guide will contain lots of bits of background for players to use for their characters. Included among those things will be charts for randomly creating backgrounds for your character from before their careers as well as some new careers (including ground forces and wet navy for the system defense forces and a merchant career).

In addition, we will introduce a system for creating characters using career packages. A lot of folks would rather avoid the "random" nature of creating characters. This will provide an interesting way to do that. It also makes for a great way to create NPCs quickly.
