In fact I saw in a mates fleet book bought at the Colours show today that the new fleet books are already being printed without the "combining rules"...

They were the alternate FAP splitting rules that were in the early fleet books but have since been removed.

Being printed without the combining rules is a good thing as they were wrong... I believe Poi's statement was just a comment on how quickly the errors can be corrected and new copies printed up.
