So, there goes... there is a long way before going all the way to use a high end model kit like the FINEMOLD ones.

And there's no reason to not use finemold one either...

It's not like it's bad looking model? That and price are only reasons for not choosing model...

And there's no reason not use a piece of cardboard and call it an X-Wing or whatever you want either.

The access to a model and associated price could be deciding factors, won't you think?

And some models are easier to get access than others.

And aren't the other possibilities that I've indicated also models, and also good looking?

There are several other possibilities, the FINEMOLDS model is not the unique solution in the universe.

Because the SW miniature game is not very good. It is the age old tale of roll some D20s and see what models invalidate the basic rolls.

SW:Evo however rocks the Casba.

Black & Blue mean anything to you?

As Ben suggests, SWM rules are a bit strange, and are based around one superhero doing his stuff. There are several hundred different rules \ special abilities, and lastly, they break down when you try and use any sort of organised squad types. Each to their own, but I am looking for something different.

The mod version of EVO does seem to work, at least as far as the one game I played and reading the rules, so I am dusting off those SWMs and getting a few games in.

Sadly, the only looser here is Mongoose, as they dont gain in selling either rules or figures, but at least they may get some folk interested in Evo through Star Wars

No it is not but it does not deserve the huge "don't buy it" mentality you seem to posses. Why are you so much against using those? Are the models bad looking or what?

I'm not sure when Puller ever was surrounded by 8 Divisions in reality, but I suspect he was trying to emulate Foch

"I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking."

Thanks for the heads up on the models - I for one will look into using them if I need it, although that will be a way off. On the other hand, I do see the point that if they are over compley or not too robust there are probably better choices out there

"Don't buy it"?
Jesus, did you even bother to read what I wrote?

You also seem to have a problem with «models looking bad or what»... Did I said that?

No.
They are great quality and detailed model kits, imported and therefore more difficult to obtain (for me - read this, please), that I regard as best of breed and that I buy targeted for pure static modeling and not for wargames usage, and that's what I've said since my first sentence.

For wargames usage I would not go for a such an high quality imported model, but probably use easier access and probably cheaper (for me - read this, please) models oits or kits that I can access easier, or even ready made models, all the ones I already referenced here and as it seems, nobody bother to read... and that's what I've said in my latter sentences.

You can do whatever you want, you have by blessings if you need them.

All this buzz is making me thing that there is some kind of dark hidden fetish with HLJ and Finemold models or something laying around... 8)

Dunno. Found that quote on SP: WinMBT, loved it and now use that quote. Very funny quote.
