Flycycle

Of all the vehicles that define Traveller, I think grav vehicles such as Air/Rafts are probably the most popular, with grav belts second most popular.

Personally, I would be a big fan of hoverbikes and flycycles.

Now this is my Traveller ride:-

How fast can it go? Gyro's to prevent more drastic maneuvers?

How practical vs cinematic do you like games?

Have you ever gone 100+ mph on a motorcycle? Notice it's often the fast sport bikes that have that little wind deflector?

Reason I ask is because although it may look cool it's for a more cinematic game and not a good design for high speeds or doing aggressive maneuvers in a more realistic game.

I always thought that one of the first things you did in Traveller was take Striker/FF&S and design one. I vaguely recall that they were affordable.

Also I can do without what looks like a bicycle handle bars, bell and controls.

Must need a helmet with thought interface too because I don't know where the other controls, like throttle are. Probably a heads up display for the gauges?

List of issues could keep going and others I'm sure will do it for me.

I like it myself, I would change a few things though. The seat does not look like a good match for a Higher tech level then we have now. I would also lose the kickstarter. But I still like it.

This is not a commercial flycycle, clearly. It has the feel of a custom-built vehicle, kitbashed from odd old ends - antique motorcycle chassis, grav suspension - and put together by a very bored inventor who thought, before he slammed into the side of a building at 400 kph, "What could possibly go wrong?"

Still, it'd be cool to ride one of these one time. Even if you do only get to ride one, one time.

Even a helmet might be insufficient head protection for rocket powered lateral movement, as the rider may be upside down. I would have suggested gyroscopic controlled ejection seat, but I doubt it would have mattered in a tunnel which way way you went.

Maybe built in rails where you could slide backwards into the wake of the flycycle.
