have to say I disagree. Ihave had letters take 6 tays to travel from Sacramento to Yuba City (a distance of about 45 miles)
and I have the same problem with package delivery - if it doesn't fit in your mailbox, the mailman leaves a slip - which you have to claim at the post office. even worse is UPS: they'll keep trying to deliver it for 3 days, before you can pick it up at a local depot.

Sometimes UPS and the mail man don't even bother leaving a slip to let you claim it at the local depot. You get to play guess when it's in instead or have to visit each day to be sure you get it. :roll: I have a very low opinion of UPS and the mail as a result.

If you speak to your local Postmaster you can sign a waver to have all mail that would otherwise be returned to the depot (even those bits that should be signed for) left in a safe place or with a neighbour, etc. That's what I have arranged. I had an agreement with the postman, but then he left.
