Filling an Asim

What ratio of fighters to bombers do al-Malik players find best fills an Asim Light Carrier in most of their games?

I can't speak from any great body of experience, however we had a player run a carrier heavy group and he took only 3 fighters and something like 21 bombers. This proved to be utterly devastating for opponents who didn't know what his list was pre-game. However its a pretty obvious one trick pony and easily countered if your opponent is informed ahead of time of your list.

I read that one as well, which is what made me add an Asim Light Carrier to my fleet. My concern, which you pointed out, was how it was a one trick pony that can be easily countered. This made me wonder as to how other al-Malik players ratio their fighters and bombers on average. I considered a 1:2 ratio for my fighters to bombers, but was uncertain.

I usually run a 5:3 bomber:fighter ratio with a single carrier, 6:2 if I have more than one. The fighters are amazing dogfighters but too hopeless for anti-shipping to buy in large numbers, and the bombers are so slow and fragile that you have to use large numbers to get any through for a strike. Unless your opponent has never faced Al Malik bombers before, he will shoot the bombers to death ASAP, but they still serve a useful purpose that way - the shots needed to kill them are ones not hitting your gunships, which buys you time to gnaw on his ships.
