Well the horror rules are coming along nice, and the zombie stuff is done, before i move onto demons, vamps and weres etc, i need to look at Fear and Terror tests..

The basis test is a 4+ to pass, if you fail then

FEAR : Lose 1 Action
TERROR : lose 2 actions..

Zombies cause fear, and things like demons etc cause terror etc...

May questions, is reactions, do you allow reactions with Fear or Terror..?

In battlefield evo, when you get surpression, can you still react..?
I think you can if you still lose 2 actions is this correct..?

EXAMPLE OF FEAR...

Zombie turns the corner and in your view, he`s 5" away, since its within reaction reaction range you make a FEAR test, if you fail then...

1. Lose you next action, but still can react to the zombie..?

2.Lose your next action, and cannot react..?

3. Lose the option to react

SO...
Option 1 as above, you can shoot or run away, but next turn you lose a action, as you try and clear your mind...

Option 2, cannot move or shoot with the fear, and next turn you only have 1 action, as you shake the fear away

Option 3, in fear of seening the zombie, i cannot run or shoot, but as soon as its my turn, i can blow its bloody head off, or run like hell..!!!!!

WITH TERROR...

A hole opens in the road and a demon ( like hellraiser rises up )

1. test failed, next 2 sctions, as well as cannot react
1A. test passed, can react this turn

2. test failed, lose next 2 actions, and can react
2A. test passed, only lose 1 action next turn, and can or cannot react...?

Fear is the little things, like friends being killed, seening undead etc, Terror, is the stuff that turns your heair white, or frozen to the spot...?

Also a natural 6 rolled on the Terror test, could add side effects for future games etc..

Right guys and girls, input please...
Fear rules will be used, for all the Horror games, Aliens, Anythink like that, nice and simple rules etc..

Look forward to your ideas....

I don't really like the concept for zombies. I think once you implement it you'll find it makes them extremely hard to overcome. Most movies, concepts don't have people "freezing" in terror. They either run or gun until they are overcome.

For demons, maybe. But rather than suppression I'd be tempted to force a Move action as one action in the opposite direction to reflect the fear.

Thanks for reading, since you react first, then its your turn, you must first not react i would say, for the surprise and shock which is the fear, maybe if a natural 6 was rolled, not only you lose your free reaction, but also 1 action in your next turn...

For Terror if you fail a roll, lose you reaction to the fear, and 1 action as well, if a 6 was rolled its 2 actions instead, wet your trousers type of thing..

I will try that idea out i think...

Keep sending ideas all... lets make this the best Horror tabletop out there

Hi Jay, yes my horror rules are coming along fine, zombies slow/fast and the type from 28 days later all done, but before moving onto "Evil Dead", demons and the rest, i wanted to get the fear/terror rules down first....

I can send you a email, or the rules are on the mongoose mods yahoo group...

Beats Horrorclix hands down.....
