Dr. Rooster, it was just a joke. That's usually what this => means. See, that was another one!

BTW, I forgot to add that my favourite specialist is the Burrower. I know a lot of people really disslike it, but it's really revived the tunneling game for me, and it actually managed to breath new life into my entire Arachnid army! It's only one of like two of the "new" bugs that I think are actually worth it.

hahahaha

The whole point of the specialists listed here, is they are inferred to be a usuable replacement for warriors in a game... though I regret putting hoppers in the poll, as I knew they were useful beyond a doubt.

because the army book lists very high quantities to be had... and a lot of little references suggest that mongoose wants some of us to buy special bugs instead of warriors... such as firefries were suggested as a better basic troop choice against Exos in a recent MSPRANGE article...

Ive got no problem with that... but I was curious which specialist would people think would work./be their choice.

In that case I'd actually go w/Fire Fries. I've tried using nearly all the bugs to replace warriors, and I've had the best results w/Hoppers and Fries. Thing about the fries is that they just don't have that Aura of intimidation about them like the Hoppers do, so some MI players don't see them coming so to speak. I once had scoffing CAP Trooper player let the little buggers walk right up to his 4" high fortified wall. He was just just so sure those tiny little bugs would never be able to damage his units that he let 'em walk right in (he actually thought they were being used to draw him into an ambush for my "real" army). When they got close enough I shouted "Here comes the pain train", jumped over the wall, and burned everything to the ground! You should have seen the look on his face!

that poor deservingly crushed fool

they are my pick as well over all though I like the Idea/model of ripplers alot better

That's what one gets for underestimating those "little buggers" ^__^

Must've been a truly one-off, excellent scene!

Ripplers do rock, but Hoppers rock more in my opinion. D10+1 is just awesome! (And this is from an MI player's perspective :P)

Is it true the Firefries are a bugger to stick together?

Mine were pretty easy. No flash and no mal-formed parts so they went together quite well, but as I understand it there are a few packs floating around with bad attachment points/warping etc. so I guess it's all about the luck of the draw with them.

And yes, as games go that was one of the single funniest scenes in my entire gaming life. A bystander commented that it was not unlike the Ewoks beating down the Stormtroopers from the original Star Wars Trilogy!

Edit: I'd also like to add though that I always use super glue catalyst when I'm assembling my minis, and now that I think about it, I would recommend picking some up if you're going to assemble some Fries.
