Excel Ship Designer v2025.04.18

And looking at the cargo area, I wish there was a way to armor the ammunition magazines (individually) without having to do the entire cargo area. That's just a waste of tonnage as it deducts from, in some cases, a lot of cargo to cover a small area. I'm recreating the planetoid monitor from High Guard 2022 Update and it only armors the missile magazine.

The three Cargo Bay groups and the magazine group have their own armor now. Do we need individual magazine armor?
NM, separating the magazines too.

I personally think all of the magazines being armored is fine. If anyone disagrees, they can speak up, but no one has to this point. I say leave it that way.

I changed my answer to agree with your original answer (I had to think for a second) so no need to do it for me.

I suppose my next question is: Is there a way to move the data for previous ship/station/module designs over to the latest version of the sheet, or are all my 2024.10.13 designs doomed to stay that way?

I suspect that you'd need to migrate them manually if the changes in the sheet would make a difference. For me, the summary tab will be a reason to migrate. I've been manually making a summary for each and that takes hours and more work when I tweak any design.

What is the latest version of this sheet? My most recent copy is 2024.10.28a
28 b is the latest. Changes to sensop calculation.
Page 1 first post gets updated at the same time as new uploads, so if you have a question about what is most recent, you can check there.

Not that I am aware of. I'm not good enough to convert a summary to a text file and then reupload it into a format that injects into a multi-tab work book on an old version of Excel with no scripts. So, yes. Doomed.

The first page, first post has 28a as the current version even though the changelog just above it lists 28b.

There will be a user defined area with room for 20 ships/craft/vehicles on the Options Tab with the docks and hangars.
This will NOT report to the record sheet and will have a toggle that determines whether it adds to the ship's cost.
They WILL have their own section in the Summary Tab, and WILL add to the total on the Summary sheet, regardless of the toggle setting.

This is a stop gap to provide functionality until I can figure out how... or get up the incentive... to make a dedicated tab with both user defined and standard designs in a drop down. (Not holding my breath)

It seems like a drop down table with the common ones and some user definable ones right below it would be relatively simple. If it would help, I’ll go through the books and compile the data for you.

Making a table now with what I have. Will share for additions once what I have is done. That way the format will be what I am using.

I’ve got two related questions
1) have you done anything with integrating the Robot rules that are appropriate? Things like Robots lab or the various fabrication chambers in CSC and other sources? Or Robot Brains for your ships computer? Drone ships?
2) Other races specific High Guard rules? The Aslan, Droyne, Vargr, Hivers and K’Kree all have various levels of changes from just new systems like the Aslan Shrine to the hull and automation of the K’Kree.

Is there anyway we can help with this?
