Entertainment in The Third Imperium

I was reading through the JTAS books and came across the Mewey. Aslan-like, but smaller and different. Their average size is 1.7 meters. For us in the US, that's an average of 5'5" and 90 kilos (198 lbs).

With the females averaging larger, that means the males average shorter. Females might average 1.8 meters (5'11") and the males 1.6 meters (5'2"). It might be more pronounced, but the image seems to support this division.

I was wonderstruck when I saw the image and read about them. Then I had a crazy thought about an extremely popular sitcom in the Spinward Marches called “For Honor!” where a male Mewey portrays the smallest Aslan male in Charted Space. He is a merc that is terrible at fighting and would much rather be doing things more appropriate for an Aslan female and much hilarity ensues.

Just the thought of the cultural aneurism this would cause any Aslan male who witnessed it made me laugh my butt off. Heads exploding everywhere and teams of enraged Aslan males determined to end the show and the star fanning out through Imperial Space in search of an ever-moving filming location. And it is extremely popular with Aslan females in the Hierate and there is a booming trade in illicit copies of the show

Oh, the glorious chaos.

Thoughts?

And what entertainment hijinks would you get up to?

Their preferred form of entertainment might be kabuki plays and dancing for a successful hunt.

Maybe, both.

People tying their brains in knots because of the popular trend for Hiver villains in political thrillers and mysteries, roles happily performed by Hivers themselves, to the point where people are generally worried that the Hivers are actual mastermind villains pulling off some complex rearrangement of Imperial culture. Probably some of them are indeed attempting Manipulations (and so publishing the plan and the results back in the Federation) while many are just indulging in something stimulating.

Then you have an inversion on worlds where acting is a low-status profession, akin to prostitution or busking:

"Responding to accusations that it is merely an actor, Manipulator Bogart has posted a scathing correction on the local net, reiterating that it is in fact a respectable political agent and provocateur engaging in complex manipulative psycho-warfare. "Such misinterpretations of my character are greatly harmful and offensive" it said yesterday, before assuring its viewers that "I have plots for years, and I don't mean for the scripts"."

ALL hiver are performing Manipulations, it's just most of them you don't realise it, or if you do, have NO IDEA what they are manipulating you to believing.

and maybe ALL of Humanti's entertainment is nothing but a Hiver manipulation...
